I would just like to say 'for the record', that Digital Direct UK do NOT engage in any fraudulent activities or sell email addresses or are we in collusion with any other third parties that may do so.
I would also like to thank 'Denise' who has added sensible comments to this debate. :A

I'm usually the first to say it's far more likely to be random guessing of details, malware/keylogger on the customers' PC or details stolen somehow in the "real world" elsewhere. But reading this thread on face value there seems a lot of coincidence involved with the same company. Even without explicit accusations, the only inferrence one can take from the posts is definitely not good about Digital Direct.

As an aside you may want to contact abuse@moneysavingexpert.com to get permission to post representing a company (and validate who you are). Then you can be added to the official list

Otherwise we have no way of knowing if you aren't simply another user pretending an affiliation with the said company.

I never mentioned "selling" addresses, what does peev me is the fact you blatantly ignore unsubscribe requests to your annoying emails.

May I suggest you action all those requests immediately?

I'm with superscaper - DD MANAGEMENT - contact the forum management to request permission to represent Digital Direct - that shouldn't take too long.

Also, you need to make sure that you're following email unsubscribe requests - if not, you could be in breach of the Data Protection Act (I think it comes under the accuracy- or data subject request-related clauses).

• I had the same problem too which I suspect happened with another online retailer. Although I use my card weekly online a girl I work with only used the card on the same site. She never used the card apart from on the 1 site and then got a call a few days later from the bank enquiring about phone top ups and rail tickets etc. A few months later my card got hammered. Only realised because there were a couple of transactions I didn't recognise. Called the CC company and they advised there had been numerous attempts on my card for the last few months.

Online company was eatay. Nothing wrong with their service etc just this puts me off ordering anything else from them.

This afternoon my wife had a call from Tesco Mastercard Fraud checking on some "unusual" transactions (iTunes and a bet). She had not made them, the card was immediately blocked. Now we're trying to find where the card was compromised, this forum was my first place to look.

It's not been used at many different places (a relatively new card), most are very big names (Amazon, Play, Tesco, Morrisons, Saga) where I'd expect wide publicity if they were insecure, but I do see a transaction we had with Digital Direct on the statements...

Have you asked for permission from the Forum Management team to represent Digital Direct? If not, please do so by emailing them.

This process means that only the accepted representatives of companies are allowed to post on their behalf.

mute_posting - have you contacted the Information Commissioners Office? If not, give them a call/email - they take this stuff seriously.

Thanks for the heads up, mates. I was about to buy an LCD TV from them (couple of hundred quid off too), but I'll go set myself up a fresh bank account so I can keep an eye on it.
