I have never thought of actually storing lettuce in the fridge in the salad spinner!! What a good idea!
I got mine in a SuperU supermarket in France when we were camping one year - it cost 2 euros!!0 -
Just had a thought, another reason that we didn't use ours was that it wasn't one that collected the water inside, it all came out of the bottom as you were spinning it and there was no room on the draining board to use it and if you put it in the sink you couldn't get a good enough grip on it so it would fly off and rattle round the sink!

I have had several - they work well as long as there is a good sized handle to turn the spinner and another to hold the device with. There again, Mum used to put the lettuce in an old pillowcase and swish it backwards and forwards outside - did the job just as well!0

I love my salad spinner! We have a small Good Grips one (they come in two sizes) and its perfect for two. We didn't want a normal size one coz of storage and this is the only small one I've seen. Its gets a lot of use and I really wouldn't be without it.
I had the small good grips one, it broke & I replaced it with the large one - by mistake.
The smaller one was a much nicer size.
I never use it now, it's too big, I have it put away & rarely bother to get it out.0 -
I use a salad spinner - but for spinning fleece! I'm a spinner, and sometimes rather than wash a whole fleece for spinning, I'll do it a chunk at a time. And a salad spinner's perfect for getting excess water out before draping it over the cockatiels' cage to dry... just a cheap & cheerful spinner, but if it'll handle a chunk of wet wool, a few salad leaves aren't going to stress it overly... not that I'd use the same one...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0
