Mobile phone "scam" question

Hi guys hope you're all ok and well.
I bought a mobile phone crom someone in person after they advertised it for sale on gumtree back in November 2014 and last night it was blacklisted as i found out from Samsung early this morning. Because the guy i bought it from was the only person that could have blacklisted it, am i entitled to a refund or have him unblacklist it because he basically pulled a fast one on me and the guy in the Samsung shops said that it can only be blocked by the original owner as they have the IMEI number and serial number details (The phone was purchased brand new and sealed and he kept the invoice that cane with it)

I guess this depends on how you paid for it and what proofs you have.
>> I've been the victim of a scam. What should I do?
Also I guess Ebay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales board is a better place to ask.0 -
Also report it to the police. The seller has probably committed insurance fraud by claiming that it has been lost/stolen.
If you have a crime-report number, it might make eBay take notice and refund you.0 -

Did you read my post properly??
I said i bought it off the seller in person after they advertised it on gumtree. What does ebay have to do with it???0 -
What has this got to do with site feedback?0

So, you bought if for cash.
What 'refund' do you hope to get then?
You can claim it from this 'person' only, and the only way to do this is Small Claims Court. For this you need to know the name, address and have a proof of purchase. And if you win, enforcing the court decision can be not easy.0 -

My mistake. Whatever. :-/
The police can take action against the person you bought it from, assuming they have fraudulently reported it lost/stolen. Don't know whether you can get any money back from Gumtree or whether the police report will help you get the phone unblocked, or whether you can sue the seller for damages... but they're some of the things that I'd be looking in to.0 -
