    Hi everyone,

Happy weekend. I have nothing planned for this weekend at all. Great for money saving. I posted my eBay package today and the postage was less than I though so added another 75p to the sealed tin for Christmas. So far this weekend I have added £30.75 to it. Delighted with that!

I'm waiting on a delivery coming from Amazon. I got a voucher for my birthday so used it to buy new taps for the kitchen sink. I still have some money left over on the voucher but I'm going to keep that for Christmas too.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Hi Everyone,

Happy Monday... on a positive note, payday is on Wednesday! Woohoo! Can't wait to pay off more debt. This is month 4 of not getting into anymore debt done! Delighted.

I listed 3 more items on ebay last night. Only 1 selling so far with a bid of £1.20. Not a lot but it will all go towards the Christmas fund. So I am up to £32.70 / £100 so far this month. Getting there slowly but surely.

I am off work the rest of the week so I need to make sure I'm not spending too much money. Plenty of trips to the park to keep my daughter entertained!

Disaster... I have just been told that I won't be paid tomorrow. Some error in the accounts department apparently. I am gutted. They have said I will be paid on Thursday so fingers crossed. Our rates bill is due out tomorrow. I had £60 in my savings as a start of an emergency fund. But that wasn't enough. I needed £112. So I had to open my sealed tin. I have lodged the money in the bank now so I won't be overdrawn tomorrow. I really am devastated. I'm so annoyed with my work for not paying on time and I'm so annoyed at myself for being in this position.

I'll be honest, I am really struggling to see a way out of all this debt. We are really living month to month. Every time I think I'm getting somewhere something knocks me back. I am feeling so stressed out and don't know what to do.

After having a total meltdown yesterday, I have put my big girl pants on and I'm back on track today. I didn't get paid today as normal but hopefully my wages are in tomorrow. My DD for virgin comes out tomorrow and I can't have that bounce after all the hassle with virgin last month! I had a good cry to my DH last night and we talked through everything. Our plan of action is to get an emergency fund built up asap incase anything like this happens again. I am going to set up a standing order to go to my ISA account every month. That way it is hard for me to withdraw the money. I already have £300 in it. The plan is to put £50 to £100 in every month (I have to work through the budget to see what we can afford). My dad has my passbook for the ISA so that makes it difficult for me to withdraw the money.

Fingers crossed my wages are in tomorrow so I can pay off more debts. I'll update tomorrow.

Praise be... I have been paid! Payments to debts have been made:

    New balances:
    Virgin:£4680
Loan: £15722.31 (paid an extra £20 to this too)
    DH virgin: £5973.20
    Sofa: £817.44
    Total: £27192.95

£50 has gone to my savings and I also put the £60 back in that I had to transfer to cover the rates bill yesterday. I have £120 in savings now. I also need to withdraw £60 to put back in my Christmas fund. £20 has also gone to the oil account. This now has £100 in it. Back on track now for the rest of the month.

    Good morning,

DH payday today. He got a bit extra for working over time last month so that is going towards Christmas. We now have £200 saved for Christmas. Good start. Update on my make £100 in August challenge... I have now made: £34.90/£100. I still have 1 item ending tonight on eBay. Quite a bit to go before I reach £100 So I will need to get selling!

Last night's food shop came in at £60.55. I got lots of bargains so I am well stocked up for the next 10 days or so. I got 10p off per litre of fuel by spending over £60. When I was paying, someone had left their receipt so I ended up with 2 vouchers. Happy days!
I also bought another savings stamp so I now have £26/£50 towards my Christmas shop.
    Happy Friday everyone!

    Hi everyone,

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend. We went to a community event yesterday. DH entered a hot dog eating competition. He didn't win but got to keep the hot dogs he didn't eat so the rest of us got a free lunch out of it!

Today will be a NSD. I have a whole chicken in the slow cooker for dinner and there will be plenty left over for lunches tomorrow. It has been a busy weekend but spends have been minimal which is great. Here's to a very low spend week ahead!

  • Hi All,

Tuesday already. The week's are just flying by. Sales this month are up to £37.70. I am struggling to find much to sell that would be of any value. I'll keep hunting though.

We are into month 5 of not getting into any more debt. This is the longest we have gone without using credit cards. All is going ok so far this month. Our bills are all covered and we have enough to keep us going for food etc the rest of the month. I am travelling with work next week but I get all my expenses and mileage paid back so anything I make on that will go to the Christmas fund. Once I get next week over I am going to make another payment to the loan. I have only overpaid by £20 this month making my DFD 27/03/2023. So I have nearly knocked 1 month of it. Getting closer to seeing 2022 now!

  • Hi everyone,

Hope you're having a lovely bank holiday weekend. The weather is awful here so we are having a day in the house today. We took our daughter out for the day yesterday. I took £40 in cash for our spending money. I came home with £18.50!! £15 went to the sealed Christmas tin and £3.50 went to my car tax fund. Today will be a NSD. We seem to be doing well this month. If we carry on like this and nothing crops up then we should have some money left over at the end of the month. That will mean a bit more to put off the loan. I also have £120 as the start of my emergency fund so really hoping I won't need to use that!
