  • Good morning everyone,

Good news... my car passed the MOT at the weekend. So glad! Now I just have to tax it today and that's all the car expenses over for another while hopefully!

Not much to report with me. Patiently waiting on payday again so I can clear more debts. Overall debt should hit under £26k next month. So it's slowly coming down! I am due an extra 7 days pay next month so should be an extra £600. So I'm using it to pay off a bit more debt and get the last of my Christmas shopping. I'm still waiting on nearly £500 from topcashback. I'll hopefully have that in January so it will be a good start to the New Year!

    Have a lovely day :-)

  • Hi everyone,

Happy weekend!! Hope everyone is doing well. Things have been very quiet with me. I need to get oil for the house but luckily I have been saving monthly for this so it won't be an issue. I'm finally getting the hang of having separate pots.
I stupidly bought a dress while doing some online browsing. But I have wised up now and realise I don't need it. So it's being returned tomorrow. That will be £18 back! I am learning!!

    12 more days until payday!

    Have a lovely weekend!

  • Hi Kindofagilr,

Wow £452 for tyres. Crazy money! I really hate paying out for the car. Hopefully that's the end of it for a while though. Separate pots look to be the way forward. I am determined to get myself organised for 2019!

Not much to report with me. Only 3 days until payday. Can't wait to see how much extra I get this month. My £410 from topcashback has moved from pending to confirmed. Just waiting on it to become payable. I am still deciding what to do with this. We need new carpet in the bedrooms so might use it for this. But I would also like to use it to pay off a bit of the loan. That would really make a difference. Decisions, decisions...

  • Tomorrow is payday!!!!!! I can't wait to see my debt come down again. We are moving into our 8th month of not getting into anymore debt. This will be our first Christmas in a very long time that we haven't used credit cards. Things seem to be going well at the minute. All bills are covered and my savings pots are doing well too. I'm delighted that I'm finally getting organised. I have a feeling next year will be a good one...fingers crossed!

  • Hi everyone,

Got my payslip and my wages are right. Paid a fortune out on tax :-( Ah well!

Had a nice wee surprise when I logged on to my online banking this morning. I got an interest adjustment in my emergency fund account of £44. DH got £44 on his too! Happy days!

Not much else to report here. I am off work all next week so trying to keep spending to a minimum. We are going to finish the last of our Christmas shopping. This is our first year of not using a credit card to pay for Christmas shopping. I have already started saving towards Christmas next year. Super organised!

    Have a lovely day :-)

  • good morning,

I had a big post wrote last week but it didn't seem to post... ah well!

All is going well with me. Payday is on Friday so I'm looking forward to seeing the debts come down. I'm feeling positive about the New Year now. April 2019 will be a whole year since we got into anymore debt!

Christmas is almost sorted. I just have a few things to get which I have budgeted for. I am still waiting on £410 from topcashback to become payable. I am going to use this to get new carpet for our bedrooms in the new year.

In other news, I have been told I am getting a pay rise in January. It will work out as approx. £150-£200 a month extra. This will help me so much in paying off debts. I'm thinking I could aim to be debt free for December 2021. That is my plan anyway!

    Speak soon :-)

  • Hi everyone,

Just popping on quickly to update my signature. Payday was on Friday so my debts currently stand at:

    Virgin: £4480
    Loan: £14717.41
    Sofa: £691.68
    DH Virgin: £5613.20
    Total: £25502.29

Next month we will hopefully be under the £25k mark. Still not getting into anymore debt which is great. So that is 8 full months of debt busting done! Long may it continue. I have bought a new sealed tin to start my savings for an emergency fund for next year. I'm feeling determined to cut my spending even more in 2019.

I might not get on again before Christmas... so Merry Christmas everyone xx
