Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, and Happy new year.
I haven't had time to get on in a while but I'm back now to give an update.
We made it through Christmas without getting in a single bit more debt. That is the first that has happened in years. Today is payday so the debts have come down again. They currently stand at:
Virgin £4430
Loan £14496.41
Sofa £660.24
DH Virgin £5523.20
Total £25109.85
So we are nearly under the £25k mark. I still need to make an overpayment on the loan but I will wait and do that when DH gets paid on Thursday.
Some good news, DH got a 5% payrise yesterday. So once that comes through we are going to use it to pay off the loan every month. Good start to the year!
I have my sealed tin bought and so far I have £12.50 in it. Lucifa, I will have to have a look at the sealed tin challenge.
Our mortgage deal expires in May so I will have to start researching to see if we can get a better deal. I would love to be able to reduce the term of the mortgage. Here's hoping.
Other than that all is going well with me. I am still trying to spend as little as possible. I have made a big effort so far this year to cut down on food expenses and wastage as I believe that is where all our money goes. So if I get that sorted then the money situation should be better each month.
Hope everyone is doing well :-)Virgin £4892.50/ £3880
Loan £16587.87/£11706.19
Sofa £1100 / £314.40 Virgin £6550 / £4533.20

Hi everyone,
Happy Friday! Hope you're all doing well.
DH got paid yesterday so I have moved our money around. £200 has gone into the emergency fund. This now stands at £316.97. This is the most I have had in it in a while.
I got a voucher from work for Christmas. I used it to get a new cooker in the sales. It was something we were going to need soon so I'm glad I was able to put the voucher to good use.
I got another £2 coin in my change during the week so it has gone in the sealed tin. It now stands at £15 - not a massive amount but it's a start.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!Virgin £4892.50/ £3880

good morning everyone,
Blue Monday today :-( I'm trying to stay as positive as I can though.
I must update my SOA. My daughter has started pre-school so that is another bill every month that I will need to budget for. It's only until june and in September she starts her funded place.
I paid another £30 off the loan on Saturday so it now stands at £14466.41. I plan on paying another £80 off before the end of the month to bring my total debt to below £25k. I feel like 2019 is going to be the year I make big improvements to our finances. The year has started off well so far, long may it continue!Virgin £4892.50/ £3880

Hi everyone,
I'm not managing to get on as much to keep my diary up to date. But I am still plodding along with my debt busting. I have had a no spend week so far this week. I just need to do some food shopping tomorrow which I hope to keep under £30. Other than that I shouldn't need to spend anything!
I have been filling in surveys in order to gain nectar points. So far I have got 450 points so only 50 more points and that will give me £2.50. I just earned 420 points during my lunch break so not bad! 1000 points will give me 1000 Nectar points. So I will hopefully get that in the next few weeks!
I have been having a look online for sim only deals. My husbands phone contract is up in June so looks like he could more than half his bill. I'll be doing the same once my contract is up in November.
I still have all the money in the emergency fund this month. I'm hoping I won't need to touch it.
Only 2 weeks until payday. Can't wait to see the debts coming down again!
Hope everyone is good xVirgin £4892.50/ £3880

Hi everyone,
How are you all?
I feel a bit of a selling bug coming on again. I have made a list of things that I have that could possibly get me a few pounds! I'm feeling like I'm in a bit of a lull at the minute. My debt doesn't seem to be coming down fast enough. I really want to get one debt paid off to give me a wee boost if you know what I mean. So that is probably why I want to start selling again.
I have also been doing surveys online. I have made £5 for Sainsbury's. Delighted with that and it only took me a few mins a day over the past week.
Payday is next Friday. My debt will finally be under £25k. DH got a payrise at the beginning of the year. He is due to get it in his February pay and it will be back dated to 1st Jan. So that will be an extra bit this month. I am going to put that into the emergency fund. I'm thinking that by the end of March I should have approx. £500 in it. That is the most I have had in savings in a very long time.
Anyway, I'm just plodding along here with the debt payments. I need to start making some extra cash in order to clear this quicker so selling sites here I come...Virgin £4892.50/ £3880
