A while back the CSA said they would keep me informed on a weekly basis as to how my application was going.

Have to say that I'm a bit confused and curious. I am very pleased that you seem to have constant dialogue from your case worker on a weekly basis. But, how and why?

Despite all my efforts getting information from anyone at the CSA, you appear to be getting a weekly report. Am I missing something somewhere? What do I need to do to get the same attention? Good on you. :T
  • 1/7th?? To me that sounds like its for contact of at least 52 days per year and not because of other children. I would have that clarified if I were you

Finally ..... got word today that an assessment has been made, and that I will be entitled to £46 a week. "Big Jimmies" .. as we say up here in Scotland.

Thats all very well, but since they have admitted not ever getting my initial application earlier in the year, how am I going to reclaim what I am due from the past?

I reckon I sent the initial form in back in April/May, but the MEF only went out in September, surely I am due some kind of recourse ... what do you think? And how can I prove it?

    Just to develop, Macaroni

the seventh, is for the number of nights that they have at their mums, but an additional allowance has been made for her kids at home ... still bemused as to why she has only put one forward. I'm kinda thinking it is some kind of stalling tactic to prevent payments being made as she has deliberately made an "error" for that purpose. MMMMM! Suspicious me.

You have kept your log from day one.You have evidence from MP.

Put in a complaint via MP naturally and quote from that wonderful page here:

    http://www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/dwp/2003/frm/07_exgal.asp

It is obvious they have delayed due to their !!!!-ups.

    Good Luck.

PS Once my case is over and done with I will post the outcome ;)

    Thanks Sensemaya

Very interesting link you have given here. My CRO has said that he will submit my compliant to Lythem St Ann's (Why there I don't know?) who will make a calculation on what "financial redress" (Their words, not mine) I would be entitled to. They have admitted that they have c0cked up, so I am awaiting to see what Lythem St Anns have to offer, but meantime I will refer back to that link should their offer be a futile one.

    Will keep you posted
    Thanks again...

well they messed up me too. They kept me in hope in each time saying a "face to face officer" has been sent out to find the NRP, and they just waiting for report back. When the csa would not reply back to me for about 2 months, i made an official complaint with them. Guess what complaint case worker told me no officer had been sent as it was refused on "not enough evidence"! What i even given all the NRP details etc!!
So 7 months on, they finally tell me last week they know NRP employer (as i told them 2 weeks before that) and just waiting to contact them for salary details!! maybe by next Xmas i will be lucky! I thought they had extra special powers to overcome non-compliant parents - i can see NO evidence of this.

but if the NRPS were male, would it be different..hmmmmmmm (i bet so)

No, not so I'm afraid. My NRP is male and he has been given chance after chance after chance - in fact almost 8 years of delays which the CSA have allowed to happen. Even now when he has paid most of the arrears, he made an agreement to pay a fiver per week for the next 12 years starting 1 November - guess what? Yup, he hasn't paid, nor in December and they are looking at getting another liability order. I wonder how many more years it will take for them to take further action?

    Hi Kelloggs - again

Sorry to hear that ... and yet it seemed only recently that you had your windfall. I can already assume that for the next ten or so years of my life, I will be on a rollercoaster ... I get one up, followed by many downs.

Although i have progressed through the system since I first posted here, I still haven't recieved a penny, either from the NRP or the CSA. In fact, I have come to the conclusion that I don't really ever expect to see anything. I just want my kids growing up with the knowledge that their mother has provided for them. Alas, that may not even be the case ... but a paltry £5/week would be an adequate 'token'. I don't need or want her money, but its the principle.

Your post has brought it home for me, I just won't be able to get off that rollercoaster, but at least I can expect the unexpected. Thanks again.

    enemes.
many people have criticised me at home for asking the csa to get money from my son's mother - the NRP. I thought about it a lot. Well apart from her getting most of the divorce money on the basis to rehouse the child - which she did back to me, i have now had to almost sacrifice my career in some ways i.e. i cannot work away much and take on overseas jobs, and if i am out of work i have consider lower paid jobs as its difficult to move now.

Hence, i thought if am out of work i want csa money to still provide for the child, and save for his education. If get anything like you even £5pw its a bonus, if not at least i know i have tried.
    best of luck
