I wasnt meaning you to give a good answer or not just since you asked me why I posted about parcelforce I put it there just because, it seemed you wanted a response to it and nothing else.

Theres no freeholder as its in Scotland, and I had a seperate delivery at 9am from DPD that came no problem and after they came I checked door and it was open and checked every 20-30 minutes.

The point still stands, contact who ever is in charge of the building, someone much be.

Of course some days you will get deliveries some not, it's the days you don't that are the problem, just because all the stars where in line for DPD doesn't mean they will be for RM everyday and PF and all they other companies.

It must be a nightmare for you when you order stuff, as when you go out, because most don't give set times for deliveries, how do you know if they have been? if the delivery person doesn't get an answer from another flat for access to leave a card?

Keeps coming back to the box on the outside or a trade button.

There is a old "service" button on each flat god knows what it is for though, I think in the past there used to be on site staff or something, I know theres a big cupboard in entrance hall that is locked off, that or the service buzzer is for one of the flats that used to be a warden or something.

And no one is in charge of the building, 2 flats are owned by my LL, the other 4 by different landlords, one has laid empty for over 2 years.

well what happens if the front door gets blown off/broken, who pays for the hall lights, the cleaning, fixing the roof etc

If no one is in charge, go buy one of these and stick it to the front door, job done

I live in Scotland and when I lived in a tenement we clubbed together to pay for things such as repainting the front door, replacing roof tiles, repairing the entry system etc. the cleaning was done in turn by all of us and lights were wired into the appropriate flat. The postie used to buzz for entry (usually my flat as it was on the bottom) and came in and delivered post to all the flats individually, as there was no service button although later on there was a letter-box on the external door.

My relative still lives in a block of flats and although it does have a service button this doesn't always work or is off by the time the post comes, the postie just buzzes the correct flat comes into the building and goes to the correct flat.
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

hit and miss, this is not working for the OP hence this thread and my suggestions.

If the OP's flats work along the same lines, then if it were me, I would get together with the other tenants and sort something out, if that didn't work I would put up my own box or cut a slot in the main door.
