Should I stay with Plusnet ?

Hi,

I am with Plusnet for b/band and phone.

Like the service and company.

My contract is ending next month.

They have phoned me to say they will match any offer from another supplier.

I have previously been with TalkTalk, Virgin and Sky.

Who is the best to go with a the moment ? Price is my primary focus. I know the MSE weekly email sometimes highlights good offers.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Your contract isn't ending, it's simply reaching the end of it's minimum term. Do nothing and it will continue on the same terms.
Since you are seemingly dictating the terms here, I'd find the best deal you can elsewhere (for new customers), factor in any cashbacks available, and then ask PN to better that price.
There is no universal 'best deal'; it depends what is available on your exchange.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Thanks for reminding me to factor in cashbacks. I forgot about that.

I think to change b/band is less that 2 week isn't it ?
  • I have got Sky Skysports and have just renewed my 50% Sky TV deal. I know that Sky have a good deal on at the moment fro b/band, which expires in a few days time and involves M&S vouchers.

I seem to remember Sky will stop my 50% off deal if I take up their B/Band deal. Does anyone know ?
  • Hi all,

Amazing. Sky offered me £14.99 per month for unlimited b/band and anytime phone package.

Phoned Plusnet and they offered me a deal for £12-50 per month for unlimited b/band and free evening/wend calls.

    Staying with Plusnet not surprisingly.

BTW, my Skysports deal is not impacted.
  • I'm in the same position, Stephen.

Does the £12.50 also include the line rental?

    Yes it does.

Need to involve their retentions dept to get this deal.
  • Forgot to mention with Plusnet that you get the option to add BT Sports for £5.99 per month if you have a Sky Sports sat dish.

Much cheaper than Sky lol !
  • That's an amazing deal Stephen. I will be calling plusnet tomorrow to say I'm leaving and see what the reponse is. I don't really want to go as it is a good service.

I don't have a sky dish, but my best friend in the world is a NOW tv box!

To get through to retentions , email their ceo Andy Baker if I remember correctly, wait for a response and with luck you will get a deal like I did.

    .

..if that really does include line rental then it truly is an amazing deal !! I thought I did very well to get similar for ~ £18 pm (and that includes the old rate for advanced line rental). Full price for the same package for my market 1 exchange is over £34 pm with PN.:)
