Well spotted. Thanks!0

Don't ignore it folks. If you are now classified for SA and you don't do one, you will be fined.
I tried this afternoon but had to give up after waiting 40 minutes.
Probably a mistake but don't rely on it.
Quoting myself - bad form!!
Got through at 8:50 after a 3 second wait. Wow!
Confirmed that it was all a mistake and many letters sent out in error.
So. I guess, if you are not now on SA then it's safe to assume that your letter was a mistake.0 -

Thanks for that useful info.
Did they say they will send written confirmation of their error, or for you just to ignore the letter.0 -
I got the letter too, phoned and was told to ignore it. I expect they are too busy to send out further letters.0

My wife keeps nagging me to apply on her behalf and I come to full stop on the first page where it asks for her P60 number. She has not received a P60 since she retired and I have heard of the long waits on the phone and life is too short.
Any help would be appreciated.0 -

I HAVE got a P60, but I've just had a look at it and there is no obvious 'P60 number' on it - only my NI number and a PAYE tax reference ?
I think if you want the money you're going to have to bite the bullet and phone - I seem to recall that a couple of hints are to a) phone early - around 7.45 and b) if you are asked to say what your call is about as part of the initial menu voice recognition, saying "marriage allowance" should get you put throguh to the right department.0 -
No, it asks for your National Insurance number. This will be on lots of documents:
payslips
P60
Tax return
ISA documents.0 -

Agree with this, the first page asks for partners National Insurance Number. At least on my account it does.
I've never seen any HMRC forms refer to a P60 number because there is no such thing.0 -
Thought I would give it one more go and I come up against the P60 problem.
It asks for pay details from employment and as my wife does not do any type of work, she has no earnings to enter and when I enter zero amount they say this does not match our records.
There a small link entitled 'Where to find your pay details'. This then highlights a yellow box on an example P60 form.
I really do not need to sit here staring at a screen and my wife has just said that I can can give up, so I will.
I do thank you for the replies, this forum always comes up with help.
Kind regards.0
