Santander 123 Current Account - Credit Search..?

I want to get this account, for many reasons.
I'm just wondering if they will run a credit search? I won't be applying for an overdraft.
The reason I ask is that on my experian account it shows a drop since last report as I have 'recently opened one or more new credit accounts'
My mortgage for my first place and the electricity supplier are both now showing (they weren't since last time and I had a massively higher 'score').
Anyone know much about the background setting up etc on this account?
Thanks
(PS - I'm not after lectures on experian thanks
)

May be you should be as you could then learn that Experian scores are irrelevant when it comes to applying for a current account.
But to answer your Q without explanation: yes Santander will do a credit check if you agree to it. If you don't agree to it, your application will be abandoned.0 -
Thanks for replies. I might hold fire for a sec until putting the application through.Archi_Bald wrote: »May be you should be as you could then learn that Experian scores are irrelevant when it comes to applying for a current account.
I know the 'score' is Experian's own so I'll never solely relying on that. The fact that they use the information relevant to people's credit to generate this 'score' means it will give some indication. So I'll give it some attention0 -

You'd do well to pay absolutely ZERO attention to it as most people on this informed forum will tell you. Many people on this form with bankruptcies on their files claim to have scored of 999 yet can't obtain credit!0 -
Why are you so intensely worried about your score? I'd understand if you were waiting to get a mortgage agreed or something but it seems like you're not.
If you want the account, the sooner you get it, the sooner your score will recover lolSealed Pot Challenge #239

If you have a new mortgage then have you recently moved?
They will run a credit search and if they cannot electronically ID you then they will ask you to go into branch with ID.
If you have recently moved this may cause this as you will possibly not be showing on the ER at your new address.
Good luck
