I am in the following position. After being messed about by my tenant, who despite paying below market value on his rent, decided to pay as and when it suited him, if at all. This culminated in him being served notice to quit the property on 29 February 2020 to vacate by 30th April 2020. Does this change meanI have to extended that notice period by a month, to 30th May or does my orginal notice still stand?

Please help. My son has a student let that is due to run until the end of August 2020. Due to Covid19 he is now unemployed and unable to afford to stay in his flat. We have paid rent until the end of June and will be moving him back home. We applied to surrender the tenancy around a month ago, giving 2 months notice. However, his landlord has refused to consider it. Where do we stand legally?0

Hello, I am very new to all this so please bare with me.
My daughter took over a property in July 2019 - she has recently left the property, she took a meter reading and submitted it and has now received a huge bill. When she moved into the property she asked for meter access but the landlord couldnt give her one as he had lost the keys/access number to the area. (Its an apartment block and all meters are behind locked doors)
So, all meter readings have been estimated - until now, when she was eventually given access a few weeks ago.
Does the landlord have to taken readings before a new tenant moves in? As I truly believe she has been left with someone else's bill. She has correspondence between her and landlord of her asking for access - texts and emails etc.
Its a 1 bed apartment - and she has been charged £1900. She has been paying a direct debit payment of £45/month which was advised by BG at the beginning of tenancy.
If anyone could advise I would be most grateful.0 -

In March me and my husband separated and he went to live on his own to a rented studio flat.
In May my husband killed himself, he was suffering from depression. He died on 11th of May and on 12th of May I called the agency who dealt with the property to let them know that he died. The agency on the phone told me then that the contract was finished the day that he died.
He was the only one in the contract, so my name is not in the paperwork.
Now the landlord is telling that I need to pay for the rent of May and June. And I will have to carry on paying until she finds a new tenant. My husband signed a contract for 1 year, but due the circumstances nobody is renting and even that she finds a new tenant she will prefer to have the flat empty and carry on charging me for the rent that to have it rented and have to pay the bills ( the price of the rent is with all the bills)
Do I have to pay the rent even that my name is not on it? Is death not ending the contract?
I am now a widow with 2 children and have been made redundant from work so any advise that you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
