When were they edited though? Can't hover as on a mobile right now. If MSE edited them at G_M's request, it'd not show they'd been edited by anyone.

When I look it says "Edited 2 March 2020 at 2:54am by G_M" and G_M last logged in 2 March 2020 at 3:00am.  Those are the times and dates I see but I'm not in the UK just now so if you look you'll see timestamps that are 8 hours behind.

Yep, think that was mentioned, but am sure they were changed after that (I'm pretty sure, but could be wrong!). What I was trying to say is that if MSE edited them and deleted the contents at either G_M's request, or down to their own choice, I don't think it gives a date/time it was edited. Only if an actual member was to log in and edit their own post. Again, could be wrong, but pretty sure it wouldn't show when they edited it and would remain showing as the time the OP (to this or any post) amended it.

Whatever the reason that the thread was altered is probably irrelevant now.

MSE lost an incredibly dedicated member when GM left.

The housing boards lost PIXIE last year in the same manner because her advice was reported by a newish user who took offence at being told the truth rather than the answers they wanted to hear.

MSE moderation is needed occasionally however rather than blanket banning someone whomever makes these ppr decisions needs to look more closely at the context of whats being said before a decision to ban someone is made.

I wish GM a long and happy retirement...but I  also wish he were here to answer queries...I'll mis him

So G_M truly has left the building? Where has he gone?  I would be inclined to go where he has gone, Mods and OPs are too much snowflakes for my liking now a days.

If I get PPR for the above, says it all really

All good things must come to end I guess.

  • Dam, I was hoping to ping G_M as my son is becoming a landlord for a year and I wanted to pick his brains. Can we get a petition up?

Won't help. Decisions have been made. Wrong ones IMO, but unless we all disappear there's naff all gonna happen. Even then, they'd prob just close the boards. No great loss to them.

Reminds me of a mass exedus from th Landlordzone forum a couple of years back - they all came over here for a few months, then drifted back. I never knew what sparked it off but imagine it was something similar.

The person who keeps reporting needs to be PPR'd. Feels a bit like a witch hunt :(
