Natwest = Nothing they can do.
Didn't pass the affordability checks for a refinance or a different credit card interest rate/ balance transfer. He said I was only out by a matter of a few £'s but to just plug on chomping down the balances and try again to consolidate in a few months when my credit card balances are down a bit.
None of his checks today impacted my credit file and he was a really nice chap (top marks to Natwest today - 2 really nice people I've spoken to) - he played with all the figures in every way he could but alas it wasn't to be - which tbh I suspected was the case as I'd tried for consolidation before elsewhere with no success. It's annoying those as *I* know I can afford it.. but they won't just take my word for that (and neither should they, look at the mess I am in). It's fine though. Shake it off. Let it go. And all of those important messages from my insightful boy.
No worse off and at least I had that £12 refunded!
And the guy had my credit file in front of him and said it actually looks good... it was just the affordability to my debt/income ratio.
All fine, just have to keep plugging on, which was the plan anyway.
In other news Luca has told me off for not buying crisps or cherries- on a mission to be debt-free by the end of 2017 -

hey Levi, sounding good and looks great for you and LL for the foreseeable. Glad you had a lovely family weekend. Forgive the sounding off, I can't hold back given the hope raising, hope dashing badness of our darling banks. Am I the only one that wonders why natsvestitis is bright enough to think to offer help but dim enough to think you'd be better trying later when it would obviously be a massive help now? Oh, that'll be the interest they can take at minimum risk meanwhile, perhaps. Still, glad they have trained their ppl to be nice while waiting... also so very glad/lucky the world can supply quantities of multi-flavoured jelly, including Orange I understand, just hope you remember it's not all for the grownups...

Recipes are always welcome, thanks Edwink
(and maddie). Thanks Willow - I'm not very successful with choosing good bagged potatoes but when next buy loose ones I will make sure and buy some bigger of the normal type and have done that in the past
I keep a couple of the bigger, big ones in stock for when I have it as a whole meal with topping but not so important for LL as any potato is big to him
heh I will remember the tip
Lucky - he did indeed - it was sausage and mash with beans... nice old fashioned school dinner
Night folksx
PS- Going to bite the bullet tomorrow and phone up the PPI hotline @ Natwest regarding a loan I had when I was 19 and bought my first car. Have none of my docs but apparently if you still have the same current account they will have kept it, and I do. Keep hearing of people having big success with this so figure I nothing to lose by checking.- on a mission to be debt-free by the end of 2017 -

You are on a roll, fantastic.
If you don't ask you don't get :-).
Found another acronym for FEAR has two meanings:
Forget everything and run
OR
Face everything and rise.
The choice is yours :-)
On that note good night0 -
Brilliant new attitude in evidence in all these posts Levi! it's almost like someone else is writing them compared to your previous thread, and we're SO proud of you!!
The way you've shaken off not getting that consolidation (yet) is tremendous.
And you're making all these calls and enquiries now. And soon you will have a brand new shiny basic bank account, yes you will!!!!!!
Then you will feel EPIC and go for a ride on an elephant LOL!!!!!!!!£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

Hello lovely you.
I am here to tell you off. *Rowdy Ronda Mean Face* - you saved £12 (which I am really all :j:j:j :T:T:T at) and you spent it. On other things. Not related to you and LL. I love you for it, I do. But you big softie, charity begins at home. So next time, if you don't want to be done for money laundering with cash turning up at work (:rotfl:) save your pennies and make them work for YOU. Not just for your soppy heart.
Now that that is over with and you are suitably chastenedI AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!! Didn't I say you could get the money back and it wouldn't even mark your history as a late payment :T - and now you know that it is 900x better to PHONE the big bad wolf than to write to him.
ref the other stuff... it would have been nice, and it will happen in the future, but it wasn't vital. So if he had your credit file and said it looks ok then all you have to work on is getting yourself down from the limits. Most credit ratings base themselves on the amount of credit you have access to, and the percentage of it that is being used by you. So.. if you have access to £20k and are using £19,999 - you are a risk. If you have access to £20k and are using £1... you are still a risk, why do you need more? - So aim to strike a balance. Chip away at the CC and OD, and allow the others to drop steadily as they already are. And slowly but surely over the coming months, your history is going to look better and better. And then you will be able to look at a deal. Or like so many I have seen recently, you will have a limit increased somewhere, with a bal xfer offer of 0% for X which you can use. And the card you took it from will do the same down the line and so on and so forth. There is light, and hope
and you are doing so well I could squish you!!
Now... that shopping list. That is a work in progress. Lots of fruit and veg; good meat choices. Lots of other things that can be swapped as people have said, baking potatoes being one of them. I will have a look across it when I get a minute (yeah.. right, a whole minute?!) and send you a list myself.
Can you PM me your meal plan ideas? And what lunches are? I am sure we can work on getting this downand still leaving LL with his treats.
Have a good nights sleep. And well done on yet another giant leap forward in strength, attitude and courage. You are a brave bear all by yourself. And we are all so happy for you and proud! xx
