Lovely to hear from you Mr, and glad I managed to knock some sense in. You were worrying me. There are right ways and terribly unhealthy ways to do things. Both work, but it depends how you want to feel at the other end of it. I'd much rather have happy, healthy, slim, immune system building Levi in a few weeks time than the other skinny Levi in 2 weeks time... :)

As for being neglectful... Oh aren't you a terrible father indeed *eyeroll*:rotfl:

Jellytot eats her breakfast and her dinner at her little table, with the TV on. The pouffe is between her table and the TV unit now because otherwise she rams the table right up and has been known to sit on it to get closer to the screen. Due to her diet being so different to mine, and her bedtime being 10 minutes after I get home from work, she eats her dinner at different times to me. She too concentrates and eats better when her mind is engaged by something on cbeebies. Sitting and talking to her about her day results in her jumping up to act out and demonstrate various things, or just excitedly run to fetch things. Far better left alone to eat properly I have found!

As for lunches; these are at nursery with the other kids at little tables, or we have picnics whilst out, or we have indoor picnics etc. I try to keep the TV time to a minimum then and then only. And usually these are the messiest times and I can only get away with it because 99% of the time it is sandwiches and snack bits like blueberries etc!

Yay for work being better. I wish one of my bosses chilled out when the other wasn't there. They get worse  but they do tend to also take the school holidays off together and so we have plenty of totally boss free time in the office which is much more relaxed!!

Big hugs. And well done on losing those lbs. Now do it sensibly and eat your greens ;) xxx

    Hi Levi
My son used to love Go Diego Go. I found it really sweet & funny. Baby Jaguar was my favourite :)
My son eats dinner in front of the TV. He needs the downtime when we get home from school & I have to have an hour to get business admin done for the day after first doing next days packed lunch, unloading reading books, contact book, recorder, swimming kit you get the picture! My husband & I don't eat till 8 on a week day and there is no way a tired 6 year old should be downstairs then. So...I think it's about what works for your family situation. As you say, quality time is seperate. We have an almost 1 hour journey home from school as we cycle & he likes to walk and chat a bit then too. So I hear all the daily happenings then & after he's read his book to me at bedtime too. The whole sitting around a table thing doesn't work for many people these days I'd guess.

You sound like you've had a great start to the week!

Blinging up baby - one I tend to watch between my fingers, peeping out in horror. Then I get cross - the one the other week where the 4 year old got told off for playing in a children's playground in case her designer trainers got dirty. Priorities, people.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Hi :hello:
Glad to hear you're eating healthily now ;) and as for the TV.. You don't have to justify it, whatever works for you - although I was glad to see you do have quality time too :)
And very very glad to see that you're in a happier place generally  lots of love xx

Today my daughter crawled on her hands and knees for half the length of the school drive, following and pretending to be an ant. She loved every second of it. Well worth the scuffed shoes which are Clarks and decidedly not designer, just quality. And my OCD mummy side just cleaned her hands and face with an antibacterial wipe afterwards and got on with it. I can't watch these programmes.. or the ones about pageants, and honey-booboo and whoever else. My worst nightmare.. x

Blinging up Baby.. it is pretty awful.. if I had a daughter I'm sure she would be a complete tom boy.. hopefully anyway.. ;)
.. people think I dress LL very stylish... but it is all him.. he has an eye for fashion and often tells me what to wear or says I can't wear THAT.. he always wants gel in his hair.. and tells me he has a beautiful face :rotfl: Did I tell you that LL made a girlfriend at Legoland? A little Bangladeshi girl who he was in the Duplo splash area with.... and bless them if they didn't meet in the gift shop later and LL wanted to buy her a present..:)

Gotta admit though Lilt I am a Honey-boo-boo junkie too.. they are hilarious for all the wrong reasons.

Forgot to also say, I am getting to a stage at work with one client which is "going legal" so that will be a lot of extra work and time for me and probably extra work for evenings and overtime which I can also use to help me not miss LL. I also thoroughly enjoy that side of my work... there is a little lawyer inside of me screaming to get out. ;)
