** stumbles in bursting through the door and making a rather unladylike entrance ** :o

just sharing my 2p's worth of experience of living with a good friend of mine in her house whilst I had a child and she lived the single life......

As tempting as it is I would really urge you not to. I lost one of my closes friends from moving in with her, Missy H was just a baby and luckily doesn't remember anything about it.

Imagine having to consider someone else in everything that you or LL do, not running to your own schedule as hers can pop up at any time to interrupt yours, washing, cooking, cleaning, who gets to pick what's on TV, thermo setting on the heating etc.....

what if she starts "dating" LL waking up to unfamiliar people in the house that have stayed the night?

or LL is up all night crying when ill and she has to be up for work?

As a lodger you would have very minimal rights compared to the security of your own tenancy agreement at your flat. notice for a lodger can be as little as days. I now your friends but if you fell out can you stay amicable and know that you could have enough notice to find somewhere else to live? have the funds to do so in such a short space of time?

Your flat is your fort, your castle. some where for you and LL, independence, down time, a boy pad what ever else you want it to be. if your not keen on it can you not negotiate with your LL to look at putting some of their furniture in to storage? making it more your own place?

I think when moods are low it is so easy to look for a quick fix and a "pick me up" but if something sounds too good to be true it usually really is. can you imagine having to face your friend and socialise day in day out when you really don't feel well or feel like you want to hide out?

Call me a stick in the mud but just some food for thought

Just as an aside: I think if you do move it will be a good distraction when LL is in the states, as I imagine that's going to be a tough period to get through xxx

FGN came round on her way back from shopping to say that her Cravendale milk has a competition on it to win a milk glass.. she had 3 bottles of it and tore off the labels to give us to try and win. You had go to the website and enter the code and guess what? We won all 3 times! Three cute milk Cravendale glasses are coming! s0819.gif

Thanks Mary for your post, yours and others have given me lots of reservations or food for thought so I'm not going to make any decisions while I am unwell. Feeling like I am on the upward road today though. A friend is getting married on Monday morning in a Register Office and invited me long ago so I had booked the morning off... I'm even thinking I will be well enough for that and I wouldn't have even been able to consider that a week ago.

  • Just keep !!!!!!ing on as churchill would have said ;)

You're doing great, remember that you will get peaks and troughs while you are unwell.

And not making big life decisions when unwell is always a top plan :D
