Things have been a bit manic here at the weekend. The gang stayed with me on Friday night and 3Dogs kindly drove the boys to the airport at 2am on Saturday morning. Steve and Andy just rang me to say they are enjoying themselves abroad enjoying themselves with an upgrade. Yay.
I have rested, tidied and marked and done some lesson prep. All is well. My HSBC savings fund will be completed soon and I am looking to save money in Tesco account but this still needs direct debits set up on it. I will do this sometime in the week when things calm down. I will also transfer my Clydesdale account to M&S as soon as possible.
I will be transferring my £150 payout bonus from Clydesdale and also £34 from fleabay into mortgage overpayments. Yay for MSE. Thank you so much for helping me to think smarter.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
The days are getting brighter which is fab although it is a bit cold.
My Tesco Current Account opening is a bit of a nightmare I have been given numerous accounts by mistake and still no current account. M&S on the other hand have organised a switch date by phone and so far it is all going smoothly.
Eating lots of food at work which is working out quite expensive as it is all so hectic. I hope things calm down soon. :j
John has agreed we will do a carboot but it will be much later in the summer. I want to get rid of some paintings and also my books. It will be fab to declutter.
I am taking tonight off but have lots of marking to do before work tomorrow afternoon. I have seen a lovely swingseat on fleabay but I know I shouldn't really get one yet as I don't have the money:(Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Hurrah I have finally set up a current account with Tesco and I will put my kitchen fund in there and earn 3% when I am able to.I do hope to set up another account eventually one that pays more interest but this just seemed the quickest and I am waiting for some more cash offers. I hope some turn up soon.
Work has been frantic there is just so much going on. I don't know how others are coping I am so glad I am part time and i think the brighter days have helped me to stay happier.
My spending on food at work has gone through the roof and I have about £12 cash left to last me through the month so I had better be good from now on. I have some money in the bank but I am reticent to spend that unless I have to.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Susan has travelled down to help pick up the boys from the airport tonight. I treated us to fish and chips (chips for Susan as she is a vegan) last night. I know I shouldn't have done this but I fancied a treat.
I did not order the bargain swingseat from fleabay (only £120) as I have used all my spending money for this month and I reckon I can buy one in a future year when my garden is looking more beautiful.
My Tesco account is opened and M&S account is waiting to be switched. I will give the vouchers to mum and dad as it will cheer them up. I have used £450 to help the boys with the cost of moving and the wedding but will get that back soon and I will put it back in my kitchen and Christmas fund.
Roll on payday. Only one week to go.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I did a huge Tesco Shop this morning using my credit card payment money. I know I shouldn't have but I wanted to get healthy fruit et al as I was fed up of eating rubbish food. There is something so very reassuring about having healthy food in the fridge. I have been eating cheap tat for so long and I was soooo unhealthy.
I always think I am healthy and then Susan visits and I realise what rubbish I eat. It's no use saving money when I am making myself ill eating non healthy food.
I will make sure I pay off the credit card in full on Friday once I am paid.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I have just returned from a lovely day out with my friends. I bought a lovely jumper and had a great meal at Debenhams. It was dry and sunny albeit a little cold. Total spend £25.00 including travel.
All the shops seem to have sales on. The shops were not that busy considering it was a bank holiday weekend. We popped into BHS and it was sad that it is closing down in our area.
We have been paid early and no direct debits have gone out yet so far my bank account looks good. However, I have a HUGE credit card bill (boys wedding and house move) which will go out v soon.
I will be buying pots for my front garden soon. It may be a big spend. I think I am looking for about 5 large terracotta pots for my lovely petunias. I hope I can get a good deal somewhere.
We will hear about our new lower wages in about two weeks. It is very worrying. Everyone at work is v upset.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
On Sunday, I went to a carboot and spent £2 on a barometer (it looked cute), 50p for a liquorice allsort mug and £2 on fruit. Last of the big spenders, that's me. :rotfl::rotfl:
Andy (of Steve and Andy) has just arranged to get me some lovely pots for just over £22 and I am going to enjoy doing up my front garden as soon as they can bring them.
It is raining and thundering outside. Roll on the summer.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
News at work is looking grim. Yikes.
On a positive note my parents have arrived and the sun shined today. I have done quite a bit of my marking. I have also opened a monthly saver with M and S for this year's kitchen fund where I will earn 6% ie about £90.
I have just seen an offer with Coop to get a bonus of £150 which is more than I will make with 3% interest from my Tosco account.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
We have been told that if we don't sign new contract which has cuts of 2-4k we can't claim redundancy as by not signing contract we have dismissed ourselves. I have just spoken to one of my friends in a school and this is happening to her too. It's great to see how valued we are by our employers. You work yourself into the ground and they spit you out when they feel like it. That's why I am glad I am on MSE. Every penny I save will help me to be more secure.
I shall have to rely on MSE to help me make more money as work is going to be useless for the next few years. I am making a plan on Tuesday I am going to set up 4 direct debits on my kitchen current account and try to switch it to Coop for the £150 pay off.
Weather has been lovely. I ironed outside yesterday. Today I am going to clear the damp from the front of the house. It feels like we are abroad. Yay.:j:beer:
I spent £4 on snacks at the local shop. I felt I needed a treat after the stress of work. Luckily the glorious weather has helped me to chill out and I have tanned my legs so I am even in colour.:o lol.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
