Can I transfer this years ISA from Halifax (2014-2015) to HSBC and still take advantage of the offer? Whilst keeping my eligibility for the governments help to buy ISA (2015-2016)

    Or is it too late?
That should be fine. As long as you use a transfer form for the current Halifax ISA to HSBC, that's fine and if it's over £300 will satisfy HSBC's requirements for the Save Together. Until April 6, it's not possible to hurt your eligibility for a Help to Buy ISA, which is launched in the next tax year. It's only from then on that you can't pay new money into any ISA without affecting your ability to open a H2B ISA.*

*For a fuller picture, there may be workarounds: you could pay into an ISA in 15/16 and then transfer this to H2B, or withdraw and nullify the ISA and then pay that into a H2B.
This is everybody's fault but mine.

So I applied today and got rejected due to a low credit score (I've opened a lot of new accounts in the last two months). I looked on how to appeal and it said I had to appeal to branch first (weird as I applied online). Has anyone successfully appealed after being rejected?

So we applied over the phone for a joint advance account last Friday. Received a welcome pack today but nothing with any account number, sort code etc...

Are these the slowest to get things moving? Managed 2 TSB, 1 Flex Direct and 3 Halifax with internet banking set up all within a week!!

Very frustrating as eager to get our 2 ISA's up and running (including 1 to transfer)!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......

Took a month from the telephone application to receiving a debit card with my HSBC Advance account. I imagine you could do it quicker if you visited the branch to apply/sign the signature form.

That sounds very disappointing. I applied yesterday thinking that I'd probably be up and running within a week or so of the new tax year, especially with the banks having to be on the ball due to 7 day switching.

I'd just about nodded off by the end of the application, so I'm not totally clear on the next steps, but seem to recall being told I'd have to phone up and activate my debit card before I could even register for internet banking (is that actually the case?) Perhaps I shouldn't have left it this late.

A month?!?! Ah well I'll put it to back of mind for a bit. No doubt Easter will stretch it out even further...

Yep they told me it'd be another mind numbing conversation for telephone banking before then opening internet. They making us work for it!!

Actually all you need to register for internet banking is your sort code/account number and a telephone security code.

So once you've signed the paperwork and had them verify it you can phone up and setup your code.

I'm still at a loss as to why they are only accepting applications by phone/branch. It can't be the easiest option for them either.

Did any of the people saying they have a wage lower than £1750 a month manage to open this successfully. That seems like a different requirement to paying £1750 a month into the account, which presumably you can do in several chunks.
