  • So I haven't tried to open this account as I am holding out for the help to buy ISA if it comes through, made my dad call up today though (I've opened a couple up in his name and he lets me keep the incentives/interest) think he wants me out of the house as much as I want to move out so every little helps.
Took 36 minutes in total he is no where near 1750 a month comes out with about 1300 so exaggerated this figure slightly and at the end of the call said it had been a successful application and the paper work would be sent out in the post and there was something about having to call back to activate phone/internet banking.

Did any of the people saying they have a wage lower than £1750 a month manage to open this successfully. That seems like a different requirement to paying £1750 a month into the account, which presumably you can do in several chunks.
Hl,nothing to do with wages.?? I have had mail shots for me and wife for this offer. We have a joint A/c, Adv, with them, they upgraded auto, a while back.I want to transfer a Isa which matures on 10/4/15 into it,(£12k),Haliax, and £300 for 15 > 16 Isa, for £10,s,bonus', then top up with £14700 later on.This will be done by both of us, IF, the 1750, which goes in every month, covers both of us.???? I may also, transfer, other maturing isas, later on in 15<16 year, to amalgamate, our isas, but, rates will dictate this at the time.?
The reason,( not touched on) ??, here, is, that, I subscribe, well over £1750 a month into hsbc, as, I earn that much, BUT, wife only earns about £400 pcm.? her wages won't qualify her for it, but, £1750, goes into our joint a/c.I doubt Hsbc would have sent wife the offer, IF, she didn't qualify, earning under £1750.pcm? you know about plans, mice and men;:-)
  • Apologies if my question has already been answered (haven't had the time to wade through the whole thread).
If I open the HSBC Advance Save ISA with £300 fresh money on April 6th do the T&Cs allow me to transfer in more funds from another provider's ISA later when they mature on 18th April?

Yes you can do that. Just fill in HSBC's ISA transfer form when you are ready to transfer the rest..

Yes. If you have not paid any money in ("contributed") to an ISA since April 6 2014, which it doesn't sound like you have, then this year's allowance is still available to you through the end of April 5th.

You might not be able to open the HSBC ISA in time to use this year's allowance, but even so you get a new allowance on Monday, April 6, and that is not affected by the Santander ISA you opened a few years ago.
This is everybody's fault but mine.

I haven't made any contributions into the ISA since it was opened in 2013 and my advance account cannot be opened until 10-4-2015 as that was the only appointment in branch. So I could open the HSBC ISA deposit £300 or more and still have the Santander ISA which I will then transfer to either the new HSBC ISA or into the Santander 123 current account to get the 3%.
The balance is £6700 in the ISA

Yes, you will be able to open the HSBC ISA and then keep the Santander ISA, transfer it to another ISA, or indeed withdraw the money and place it in a high interest current account with a better rate. The option's yours.

Waiting them to process my advance application and then I will open an ISA, hopefully this offer is still on.

My wages are currently paid into my First Direct account, will just cycling the £1750 from my FD account be sufficient to meet the funding requirements? I know they say the money that is deposited can't be from the HSBC Bank, presumably the FD account (from the HSBC group) might be ok.

Failing that I will cycle it from another CA!

Since they've gone to the trouble of specifying non-HSBC, I wouldn't be confident enough to take the risk with an HSBC group account. FD use a subset of HSBC sort codes, so depending on how they check transfers from FD might not be counted.
