if you haven't been awarded the care component of PIP, then your mum will no longer be able to receive carers allowance. there is a run on though ... i think it is 8 weeks.
have you thought about asking them to reconsider the care award?0 -

I have yeah, but I have only been awarded 4 points on that, is it worth asking?
Also, I have read that if you ask them to reconsider it, you could lose your award altogether?0 -

I was awarded enhanced mobility and 6 points in care in PIP - I am a new non-DLA claimant, and asked for a mandatory reconsideration. I was then awarded the 2 extra points for care to go with the already awarded enhanced mobility.
DWP could in theory take away your award but then you still have recourse to a tribunal. In practice this is unlikely to happen but still a risk however small.Master Apothecary Faranell replied, “I assure you, overseer, the Royal Apothecary Society dearly wishes to make up for the tragic misguidance which ended so many lives. Yes that is a real risk and one that you have to take on board.0 -
It's possible that you could lose your award, yes. When I've had to ask for my DLA care to be looked at again, I've always also mentioned my mobility too. (I know that won't change; but knowing they'll look at it again, I mention it just in case)Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Dont think I will bother.
I think I will give my mom (my carer) half my benefit in that case because she will essentially still care for me, just a pity the DWP will not see it that way.0 -
Someone is scaremongering, ignore him. Yes, there is a risk. But there is a chance that your award of mobility will stay the same.
Have you gone through the descriptors and seen where you can score points? You need 8 for the standard care and 12 for enhanced care.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Does that include being able to repeat the activity in a safe, reliable and timely manner? You only need help 50% of the time.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
