Good for you. My brother totally overpays his mortgage each month (but barely has savings). I always give him advice to not overpay so much, and put some away instead. If he ever came out of work, i doubt the bank would be fussed if he'd overpaid for years but couldn't pay his monthly installment, as opposed to him being able to rely on savings.

I don't overpay, I put my savings into a peer to peer lender with 6% interest :D

When times were really good we overpaid our mortgage by double.
Our lender was fantastic when we hit hard times, we'd built up an over payment we could put towards future payments and went almost a year and a half with not paying :j
Guess we got lucky (fair few years back now) as I assume lenders don't let you do that now.
    Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
    Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
    Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55

  • Afternoon All,

5 mins sit down before deciding where to start!

Had to go to work today even though it's half term!!!!! (New Head). Got lots done as no kids.......will need to go in again tomorrow, but will be worth it to get straight for next week.

Was hoping to be playing lots of glitching games this week, but seems a bit quiet. Bought 18 months worth of cat food in Morries yesterday. Used £30 M&M vouchers and £5 off £40. Paid £8 and got £7 back in points. Happy with that until OH pointed out that the food may outlast the cat!!!!!!

Hmmmm. Garden, declutter or stuff to the Charity Shop?..........Cya later.

    HE x

Site builder told us the bathroom ones would be easy to do retrospectively as they can go in from the loft downwards. Kitchen much harder so I'm debating splashing out on the 9 needed for there (would still be expensive  )

Ours are convertor units, so will fit in the kitchen ceiling from below; hopefully without making a mess.
    Here I am :)
Went on market 5th I think of Jan. Our agent is a joke! We havent had one viewing yet, agent says we are overpriced.
    They priced it !!!!!
We've been suckered by them. They put some picture in that made us not look great ( scaffolding on the block), they could have left that out and I had to rewrite the specs of our sale. Not even got a 'for sale' sign put up.
They didn't even put basics of central heating and double glazing in?
They have 'suggested' we lower the price by £30.000, I've sugged that we don't sell with them even if they have an offer.
We are tied in for 12 wks from 5th Jan. After that we will look again with more savvy than this time .............. I hope.

That is really bad, I'm near to London and properties are selling within a week at full asking price.

I never used any cables, just put the cd in and followed the instructions

Took me ages to work out which button to press on my router though :o

I didn't have to touch the router, set up was on the printer itself.

  • Hi guys, can anyone reccommend a decent health grill please...
I go through these like 2 a year for some reason!

I need it to be big enough for 5-7 and would really prefer it had a temperature control on it, i have had my eye on the Tefal Optigril but after seeing the actual product in Tosco, i have changed my mind as it is only smallish.

Do you mean like a george foreman grill that drains the fat and leaves you with a piece of tasteless rubber ?

was it Rhydyclafdy, just outside Pwllheli if so my mum lives there, :D lovely village with a sad origin:D we are much more rural only a dozen houses in my village, it is a fab area and we are lucky the boys espeacily make the most of the sea and mountains. we are on anglesey most weeks its a great place espeacily newborough forest with the red squirrels.

Yep, that's the place. Not a lot there but a good base, we rented a very basic cottage for two weeks and were really lucky with the weather. For many years now we have been for a week on Holy Island, near Holyhead which is a similar area. We still have the foreign holidays but the 'kids' (3 in their 30's!) still like the family holiday in Wales. We always have a day in Caernarvon when we are there so still not far from you.
