hilstep (((hugs))) I can't offer any advice other than what everyone else has said. Get some friends round, open some wine and refuse to give your ex and his soon-to-be-wife any of that valuable space in your head and heart. They just aren't worth it.
scubaleopard I have never used the "Quick Reply" but I imagine that if you click on the "Go Advanced" button you will be able to insert smilies. hth
mioliere well done on being consistent with your exercise. That's the thing, isn't it? Being consistent - which unfortunately I'm not.Maybe some of your good work will rub off on me and I will start exercising more.
Nix143 well done on your win! :T Again, I'm not consistent with the comps so never expect to win anything (and I haven't as yet. ).
My joiner has been and gone and has done a fabulous job. I'm so pleased. The little darling even fitted a (free) new back door lock for me because I mentioned that although the key was turning, the deadlock wasn't. He offered to do it and wouldn't accept any extra money.
So, all I have to do now is decide what I am going to do to the new doors. Anyone got any ideas? They are knotty (and a couple of them are seriously knotty) pine so they are patchy in appearance. I can't decide whether to stain them darker - will that just leave me with darker, patchy doors?or paint them a nice creamy colour. Any advice would be appreciated.
Had a wander round the local carpet shop and found some new lino that would look good in the bathroom. Trouble is, it won't fit in my little Micra and they want to charge £25 for delivering it less than a mile. I wonder if XDH will pick *this* up for me since he wouldn't pick up the new doors.
DS and DD come home from Scotland tomorrow. I have missed them SOOOO much. They have had a great time though and are really chatty on the phone.
As it's my last night of freedom I have rented The Holiday and The Illusionist from the local video store. So, I'm off to watch some slush.
((((hugs)))) to any and all who need one. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Catowen - he didn't invite his own children? What kind of a man does that???
Quiet day here today. I'm at w**k, sadly, but off tomorrow.
My sister in law is coming over tonight to pick us up and take us to hers for the weekend. (we don't drive and they live in the middle of Bedale so can't get there by public transport apparantly.) She and her husband have both got the weekend off work (unusual) and its a good chance for us to spend some time with the kids. Plus, I've never been to their house and I've been with her brother for 4 years.
Looking forward to it, thought I always get nervous staying in new places. Its daft, I can do hotels etc no problem, but a friend or family members house? Nerves all the way.
Hugs to all those who want/need them, and remember... its nearly the weekend.

Afternoon all
Hapy Birthday Pink - Hope you're being spoilt rotton.
Hugs to all in need today.
It's been really muggy and overcast here all day - just had a small rain shower but nothing to clear the air.
Got the new dishwasher last night - can't belive how much I've missed it - was lovely coming out to a clear kitchen this morning and great just to load it up with lunch stuff so it's not out on show. I took the oppertunity to wash all the glasses and cups - amazing how sparkly they are now.
OS wise - I've aired all the duvets outside today - done some ironing, made some birthday cards and swished and swiped all through - just need to chuck a hoover round in a bit (landlords coming tonight so need to make an effort) - then it's a quick shower before tea. Cheats tea tonight - made a huge lasagne last night - loads left so will make some cheaty garlic bread (part baked baguettes cut in half and spread with garlic butter) and a salad.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening - think I'll have a quick peek at the comps boards to see if some luck will rub off."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

and happy birthday pinkwinged:j
Having an ok day today. Very tired. Went to be around 11ish I think last night, had only just turned light out when DD (2) woke crying. She NEVER EVER wakens so I was a bit nonplussed. Got her settled with a change of nappy then a bit later DS (4) woke up crying for a drink. Shortly after that DD awake again crying for "cream for my bottom" - bless- so did that for her. A bit ater she was crying AGAIN so I decided to go for calpol. This has always worked for any other time she has woken as she really doesnt waken and cry unless she is ill. We are talking three times in the last year. Anyway after that (by this time it was gone 1am) she was crying YET AGAIN this time for a drink.
Thankfully then some water seemed to settle her down. I am (at 33 weeks pg) shattered today. Hubs got the kids up and I lay on dozing til almost 9.
After brekkie I got DS to try on all his new school uniform which all fitted thankfully. Then we went to Asda and that has totally finished. DD is a moody so and so after not sleeping last night. She cried most of the way round Asda, I just wanted to run out of the shop screaming it was so stressful listening to her and fending off DS from grabbing everything in sight)
She's just at the tail end of chicken pox but I would have thought she'd e feeling ok by now as the spots have all crusted over and in fact are mostly gone now. Anyway she's has gone for a sleep thankfully, and DS is watching telly. I just want to sleep!
I had great plans for stuff to do today but am just too tired. Cooked a load of sausages (veggie) earlier, planning to put in the slow cooker with some bits to make sausage caserole. But can't decide what to have tonight at all. The cupboards are now full after the shopping but AI am too tired to make anything!!
Hope everyone's days are going well, hugs to those in need,

Well, worked a bit on the x stitch , but i have had to chop + change as I dont have enough room left to do what I'd planned on.....
Made a loaf od sourdough bread (thanks BM!) and its rising right now; then I made sourdough muffins..... still have quite a bit of starter to use, but will have to feed it soon.
Emptied teh DW and washed a few as well. That's enough for today ; DH sturn once he gets home.0 -
Right, since last post I have decided to do pasta for tea , with spinach and mushrooms and pine nuts yum
We have some leftover pasta and tomato sauce that kids had last night so they can have that as they don't like spinach or mushrooms.
Did anyone see the news about that bridge in Minnesota that collapsed? How scary, like something out of a film.Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

pamI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you
I am one of the English sexy Shelias
I'm also a hussy0 -
odds-n-sods - yes he would but he said he'd be home at 6 so we can all eat together, if he starts it at 6 when he gets in its too late for the kids, so I'd have to cook for them anyway. Plus if I tell him we won't be eating til later then he'll work late and I will have to do kids bath. Cooking is easier LOL
He would LOVE a takeaway, I swear he is addicted to MSG but I am ahem a bit bunged up at the moment and on the prunes and all bran if you see what I mean LOL and takeaways sadly just make it so much worse!!!!
I think if I just drag myself off the sofa and get moving again I'll feel better. Going to whack sausage caserole stuff in slow cooker now anyway. Only 90 minutes til he is home :j

Oh, he's no man, looking back, im glad she took him off my hands!!! We are all a lot happier now - its school holidays, and i still dont know if or when he will see them - im working next week, and then on 2 weeks holiday, so he wont be having them whilst im off, he hasnt seen them since the begining of June.
Re his wedding, it gets worse, he had her 2 children as pageboy and bridesmaid, but not his own children - i think he would say i wouldnt let them go (he's prob right) but he never even asked, so one day he can explain to them why he didnt want them.0
