    Morning everyone

    Happy Birthday Pink xxxx
    and
    Congratulations to PenPin!

Up early (for me) today, as DH off to Goodwood and I needed to get him to his not-so-local.

One load of washing done and on line, second load nearly finished. DW unloaded, need to put it on again soon as DW engineer should be here between 12 and 1, and the problem is right at the end of the cycle.

Got lots of windows open so the house can air in this lovely weather. Will go round and sweep floors with microfibre cloth later, cats are moulting and, as we have hard floors in all but two rooms, the little tumbleweed balls get everywhere.

Started the day with hot water and fresh lemon, which was more pleasant than I expected. Will be having soup for lunch and a different soup for dinner, have put on a couple of pounds and need to take urgent action.

Instead of housework, I'll be trying to remove a St John's Wort shrub from our back garden. It's in the way of the new seating area, and must come out. I'm not sure I'll bve able to dig the roots out on this one, but I can clear a lot of it to make it a smaller job for DH.

Drain man is due "late morning" to give us a quote to clear the blockage.

Would like to pop to Makro this afternoon. They have an offer on on Bbounty Kitchen towels and Fairy DW tablets, plus a few other things. Also need to go to Curves for a workout. Finally, have a couple of call sto make.

Well, better get on. <<hugs>> to anyone who needs one or would like one

    Hazel xx

Hi to all. Just come back from Curves - tell me, DANNAHAZ, why does it seem harder one day and not the next? Sometimes it really takes it out of more than I expect and today was one of those times! I am aching more than usual! Still, when it's time to leave, I am always glad I've done it. The girls who run it are a lovely bunch and there's such a good atmosphere.

Well, the house is all clean and organised again now that my guests have gone and I have the place all to myself - I came back in from Curves and thought 'I can do exactly what I want - all day!' so I'm going to have a look at the comp thread and see if I can win something and I need to look at the wartime thread to get some info for DGS's project on the second world war. Fortunately, we've steered him away from the awful side of the war (he's seven and doesn't need to know too much at the moment) and he's really interested in how they recycled everything, make-do-and-mend and rationing, and so on, so there's plenty of information out there on that. He can't believe that they melted railings down to build aeroplanes!

HILSTEP - I think your feelings about your EX remarrying are quite understandable so rant away - we're all here to listen and offer support.

We have brilliant sunshine this morning but now it looks like rain and I've got loads of sheets and towels on the line - I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Well, I'm off for a mooch round the other threads now so will drop in later.

  • Morning all....((((((HUGS))))))))))) if you need one.........

Happy birthday to the birthday people and well done PP on your exam results..........whew........

Well an early start for us, OH had just got out the bathroom when the door bell went.the carpeneter to do the bathroom door, I shot out of bed whilst he had gone to fetch his kit............lovely man did the door, altered the closer on the outside door so it does not slam and PUT UP THE PLATE RACKS for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!what a star.....so now we are finished, it has only taken us3 1/2 months to get the apartment straight, but its done. Also had the plumber come to put a new ball valve on the hot water tank, I could hear the damn thing going drip, drip, drip at 3am this morning, sorted the tap in the bathroom and had a look at the sink, it loks like we may have to have the cupboards out whilst they replace the run of pipe between the kitchen sink and the stack pipe in the bathroom................eeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk......I have cleared up and cleaned the kitchen and my plates etc are now in their new home and I have more room in my cupboards yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH is playing bowls this afternoon.........so bacon lettuce and tomato snadwiches on the menu shortly..................the sun is just begining to break through................

We have been talking about spending part of the winter on the med coast in the south of France, have had some quite interesting replies to an advert I posted on a website...........I need to get back to them about various bits...but it would be great for us to 'escape' for a couple of months........

Better go, oh will need his lunch, may be back later, but I want to swap round the cupboard under the sink with the one next to it if you see what I mean.......................

    Bye for now...................
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

    Tesco £57.13
    Petrol £10.00

I've just read the rest of yesterday's thread that I didn't get round to reading; I wanted to say 'welcome back' to JILLD and say what a laugh you gave me talking about that spider sauntering casually up the hoover pipe. I'd have done exactly the same!

Well, I am a very bouncy girl today..............what do you mean I can't be a girl if I'm nearly 40? Pah to that! :rotfl:Logged on last night and I had won a picnic hamper and a selection of spices LOL!!!!!! Now I am especially glad as I used to comp but have stopped for months and only started again on Monday and I won from a comp I entered that night!!!!!! Its a blurry lovely one as well and I checked and its worth £90. So that made me bounce like a loon to be honest.

PLUS I weighed myself because its the start of my diet and I'd lost 4lbs!!!! Just by deciding to go on a diet LOL. :D To celebrate I made some hobnobs covered in chocolate and figured that as long as I keep thinking that I need to lose weight then i can eat what I like

Hope you all have a wonderful day, I will be manically cleaning the house tonight as my gorgeous girlfriend arrives tomorrow for a week. Take care everyone xxx

Hilstep - you rant away love. We have a similar situation in my family so I understand exactly how you feel. Sending you huge hugs. I've moaned on here so much when I was with my ex and everyone was great. Treat yourself to something to cheer yourself up. Maybe ask the girls round and open up a few bottles of wine. Keep smiling honey

Hilstep I know what you mean - I remember when my ex OH came round to tell me the great news that he and her were pregnant - Such good news:mad: Get a large bottle of expensive wine and drink it all yourself as a celebration;)

    Afternoon all

I very nearly posted this morning but then we had a power cut for 2 hours so that was that. Its amazing how much you miss electicity when its not there - I kept thinking things like never mind Ill just do some ironing or just listen to the radio instead of watching telly doh  So instead I took myself off to Next to take something back (not too bad a result really - took a £70 jacket back and got some fab jeans for £7 - its really useful being long length as they tend to get left:j ) So now its all back to normal but the close is so noisy with everyones alarms going off every 20 mins:mad:

Very excited as I am off for a long weekend with some friends in Bournemouth this evening - normally I would be dreading the trip as it takes me about 5 hours to drive there but I managed to get a flight for £40 quid so thats actually much cheaper than the petrol would have cost me and so much easier. One of my friends has a yacht (I always have to look up how to spell that word its really odd:D ) so anyway we are going to be heading off to the Isle of Wight for a day if the weather is ok so its sunglasses and champers for me while I imagine I am in the Caribbean (can never spell that either :rotfl: ) not very OS i know but I will think of you all:D

Washing all done and im just hoping my lucky denim cut offs (that usually guarantuee sun ) will be dry in time ready for my "cruise" ;)

Right best get back to work for a bit I suppose:o
Have a great day all and hugs all round

Hillstep - when my ex got remarried, he didnt invite DS or DD - in fact, he didnt say anything (even though i lived in a different county) i guess in case i turned up and caused problems (i wouldnt have, he thinks far to much of himself if he could ever think that!!!). It was to the 'woman' he left me for, and i just said to everyone i hoped they would be very UNhappy together.
6 years later, after they had both had at least one affair each (that i know of, could be more) they are now getting a divorce - it really is a case of what goes around, comes around and i really do believe that!!!
Keep that in mind at the weekend, things always work themselves out in the end xxx
