Morning Amie and all to follow,
I'm glad the party went so well despite the no shows, and thankyou for the birthday wishes....I was hoping that no one would notice as 44 really does mean mid forties no matter what way you squint your eyes to look at it!
Arrgghh! I can't sleep again!!!! This is getting silly now, so I'm thinking of getting some lavender oil a la twink to see if that helps. I woke at 3am and went into the garden to pick some lavender to see if that would do the same job...but then I woke again at 4am when I kept sticking it up my nose!
I wish I could manage to get up at this time in term time....life would be so much easier. Roll on 1st September and guess who will have trouble wakening in the morning!
No idea yet what's in store for today.....suffice to say that I'm not planning to do much at all.
I hope you all have a good day.:)

Morning Amie and HB Pink! Hello every1 following!
Just lost my typed response  Probably because I was fretting about something neighbours estate agent said to a viewer. Been awake since 4am and fretting about this. EA said that vendor has said that the kitchen can be extended. Bear in mind we share a courtyard and I have full access into it according to my deeds, and our kitchen doors are all of 6ft away from each other on the same wall. So extension would be into the courtyard, blocking my access. So not legal, on a few counts, let alone that the conservation officer wouldn't allow it (Grade II listed and the cons officer already made the house on the other side alter plans to protect the G II houses). BUT EA is saying these things, which is misleading to the viewers. So someone might buy the house and then I have a planning or legal fight on my hands.
Like Pink, having problems sleeping. The sleep I did get was FULL of dreams about filling water bottles from water bowsersThe water supply has stayed on though, so I'm not sure what my plans are but they will involved washing bedsheets and a nice big hot bath after something like decorating or gardening.
Did have a laugh last night. We roasted a chicken. The adult cats know they have to wait to be given some - little PsychoKitty hasn't learnt that yet! He was going nuts the minute we took it out of the oven, trying to climb sofas, boxes, legs etc to get near the chicken. Had to try teach him manners - he kept trying to nip in and steal what I gave to the adult girls. Imagine me feeding girl cat, hopping on one foot as kitty dangles from other foot yelling at the top of his voice for chicken! He was so funny! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Note to self: Find water sprayer - Kitty has almost enough spring in his short legs to reach kitchen counters. Must learn not to (a good dose of water spray may work!)
Have a good one whatever you do!0 -
Morning. Happy Birthday by the way.
Did not sleep well as I had pretty bad indigestion. I did eat a lot of rubbish last night as most everyone else was out. My son got me on to these mozzerella dippers. They are great. £1.39 from Aldi for a box of 10, with sweet chilli sauce. Really tasty!!! We ate a box each which probably mixed with a curry and pint of cider does not help the old digestive system.
Work shortly. It seesm to have calmed down a bit from the hectic past few days. Long weekend coming up as I have taken some holidays added on to rest days.. I won't be at work too much in August.:D
Well got to feed the chickens, rabbit and myself. Cheers.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Hi all! Many, many happy returns to Pink-Winged :bdaycake: - I know you wanted to let it sneak by without us noticing but you do such a fantastic job on here I don't think you have much chance of that! Have a fabulous day.
Pah! Mid-forties! Nothing!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm staring a MUCH scarier birthday in the eye!
Nice and sunny here at the moment, it's been such a treat the past few days not to have to wring water out of everything and just enjoy the weather. I have a college session at 9 and then I really must de-grime my kitchen, it's been ages since it had a really good clean and it's very embarrassing at the moment
Not a lot of other news from the Flittersnoop camp, I'm just making endless lists of stuff for our upcoming holiday, have just applied for that new EHICs (health card) online since I'd completely forgotten that it had replaced the E111. OH had a bit of an accident last time he was abroad so it was very useful then.
Breakfast: crumpets and Marmite
Lunch: tuna salad
Dinner; steaks and wedges, mm.
Enjoy the sun everyone

Good morning everyone and a HUGE happy Birthday to Pink-winged:beer:
:bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: I hope you get lots of presents and thouroughly spoilt .
44 is a mere stripling my dear I am a wee bit older than that...actually a darned sight older than that ,but as my gorgeous grandson Danny says 'Nan, age is just a number it's how you are inside that counts' .A wise head on him that boy at rising 17 he will go far, bless him. I still feel like a teenager on the inside although I'm more of a crinkly on the outside :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
My eldest DD is on her way home from Torquay this morning with the family, so I expect she will be around this afternoon to see me.Bless her she has had a nice holiday ,apart from Son-in-law pranging the boot of HER car as he reversed in.Apparantly this concrete post leapt out and hit the car whilst he was parking up.She has an Audi so it will cost mega bucks for a new boot lid and bumper.
New builder comes this morning to start the new conservatory .He is, so I'm told, a man of few words who just gets on with it , great at least I won't be forever making tea.
I am going to put my feet up and watch Waking the Dead on catchup t.v.(I have cable)
if the blessed thing is working I spend at least two phone calls a week to Virgin moaning about the service  .They do fix it, but its not too reliable.Never had a problem when Telewest owned the company.Thats my grumble over for the day .
I have a line of washing to go out (doesn't that sound great after all the rain we had in June) then it's feet up and a bit of t.v.(hopefully) and some knitting. Its all go in my house:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: How I love being retired ,you can do what ever you want and no one complains I threw away my watch when I retired 12 years ago ,and have never worn one since
I wonder why they give out gold watches on retirement ,its the last thing you want , to be reminded of the time when you have spent most of your life running against the clock.:rotfl: Hope everyone has a good day and <<hugs>> to those who need them, and a big smiley face to the rest of you.:D
see you all later ,JackieO
p.s. well done P.P.0 -
Morning All
It's sunny here at the moment, but I think rain is forcast for later on.
I've taken hubby to the station, fed the fish & Thumper & Ogden.
I've been offered 2 hours overtime today from 11 till 1, my new photocopiers are arriving so I need to decide which one goes where, I'm making some chocolate brownies to take in with me.
DD & DGS came round again yesterday & we set the paddling pool up & had a picnic in the garden, DGS had great fun. DD gets very tired, working nights & being pregnant, so she had a snooze on the sofa for an hour while I kept DGS amused.
Everthing I planned to do yesterday will now be done today, not that any of it was important, lol, and I must finish the next 6 aprons I started as they are all cut up & just need sewing together.
I'll cook Gammon & new potatoes for tea tonight as we had leftovers last night.
Hope everyone has a good day,
Hugs Hester
Well done PP on your exam results.
