Well done on paying off the CC! I use My Fitness Pal too, I love it. PM me if you'd like to link up on there. I'm trying to do clean eating, and I've just bought a bullet type blender. Loving all the smoothies I'm making! Having said that we have just had a Chinese, which was very yummy!
Have a good w/e xxLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Yay for healthy eating! I feel much better for it — though I've gone a bit off-track for the past few days... Well doneRainy day fund — 210/1000 Emergency fund — 1019/1500
Loan — 424/19,224 = 2.2% Fun fund: 1/100 Credit card balance — 00 -
My fitness pall is really good, I started using it just before Christmas and find it really helpful. Even if you're not trying to lose weight it's great for just tracking what you eat, certainly makes me eat more.... 'mindfully' shall we say!0

I'm trying to have more veg and also introduced some smoothies.... however one evening after a very bad day and an awful journey home I ate the whole bag of jelly sweets and half a bar of choc - this didn't make for a very pretty entry :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: that's the thing if i eat it it goes in the diary - no getting away from it!AspiringButAnxious wrote: »Yay for healthy eating! Healthy eating definitely makes you feel better on the whole! Even if you do go off track a bit just come back to it the next day and start afresh. It was an eye opener that's for sure, it's making me look at my diet in a completely different way. I used to eat sooooo much sugar :eek:0 -

Thank you for thinking of me step up, all is ok here
Not posted for awhile as kind of fell off the diet wagon and didn't want to admit itSomeone said to me that it's better to make a small but sustainable changes rather than go all in and I think they are right!
Anyway moving on
Money wise we doing well this month, still have just over 1k in current account and all the bills have now come out. I have also stashed away £200 in another savings account, but haven't made any overpayments to the loan so far.
I'm thinking maybe I should build up my savings instead? Obviously this goes against the MSE policy but the loan is on such a low rate and we are definitely not acquiring anymore debt. I am pondering on my next options at the moment, but will be saving as much as possible meanwhile
Had a quiet birthday, I not really celebrate it that much anymore, but met up with some friends. Now planning a birthday present for my mum. I'm thinking a locket with a picture of my nan inside? I hope she will like it (and not get upset if you know what I mean)
Was picking out the pictures to go in the locket and my nan looks so Young and amazing only a year or so ago can't believe she is not with us anymore! I wonder if I could share a pic with you all, I'm sure she wouldn't have minded Xx0 -
These are my favourite pictures I chose for the locket. One of her last holiday only 2 years ago (before we found out she was ill)
And another from her last birthday, coming up to a year ago now
She is wearing sunglasses indoors due to her being partially sighted. She was already ill on her birthday and sadly passed away only 4 months after this pic was taken
But how amazing and full of life she looks?! It's so hard to believe it..0 -
Today is exactly a year since I joined MSE! I've had such a good year repaying a lot of debt and more importantly changing quite a few habits I had regarding money and spending :money:
I know I've not made overpayments to the loan yet this year but I have saved 500 this month which I'm stashing away for now. I think the reason I'm holding off is that I feel my debt is now under control and I'm not feeling an urge to spend it as all. It feels nice to actually have savings!
Anyway happy 1 year anniversary to me :cool:0 -
Well done you!!! Happy Anniversary!! And your nan looks fab in those photos!! I hope I live to her age and look as good!!
I feel like I'm at the stage now with my debt too. Its under control and I don't feel the urge to spend like I used to. Ive realised that lie doesn't start once I am debt free, it started the moment I decided to live within my means.
Here is to the next year for you!!
Xx19/8/19 vs now Current Total debt £14,188 Savings £2757
Overdraft £1600 vs £1050
HSBC1 £1900 vs £3868
HSBC2 £4100 vs £3730
Virgin 1 £3050 vs £2800
House stuff and improvements £4460 Virgin 2 £27400 -
I got a one year anniversary badge woohoo  didn't expect that and was quite chuffed when I logged on such a nerd
:o :rotfl:
Thank you for your post crunch time! That's exactly how I feel you've put it much better than me.. I guess I feel like I can start living now (within my means of course!!) as I feel that the debt no longer controls me0
