Day 4 of the new year and the new health kick! Today has been the toughest yet to make myself do the excersise DVD. But I knew it be tough as it's the first day back to work!

I think the worst bit is that I feel quite unwell, headachy and muscle aches (that could be from the dvd) and time of month. But I know that if I don't do it everyday I will give up. I know myself too well! So I HAVE to do it everyday regardless... Maybe a couple weeks in if I'm unwell I can skip a day but not on day 4! And there are different 30 minute sections on the dvd so I did the easier toning one today

The thing is to keep the momentum going and it's only 30 minutes! I can do it!

Strangely the food side wasn't that bad today, I didn't feel hungry at all! Had a breakfast bar, soup and low calorie crisps (so feel like I'm still getting a treat) and then a very small bowl of pasta plus and egg (carbs and protein) after the work out. And I'm on unlimited green teas to detoxify yum ;)

The direct debits have cleared and I'm not doing too bad money wise at the moment. Fingers crossed it stays that way! I have also cancelled an unnecessary insurance which run out this month :money:

Having an early night tonight hopefully will feel better tomorrow.

    Day 5

Im feeling a bit better today, still achey and a bit of a headache (and cold!) but definitely better than yesterday so will be 100% doing the DVD tonight once i get home :)

Will do the toning section again though, as might not be a good idea to do anything aerobic with a cough.. Im slowly building up to the legs, bums and tums section as I remember it being the most difficult one ever! So probably be fit enough end of next week!

Eating has been so much easier than I thought! I really have no idea why? As when I was at home everything was swiftly dissapearing into my tum hahaha :rotfl:

Maybe because I feel really committed this time or maybe because im a little bit under the weather.. who knows but Im not complaining!

    Day 6

Im feeling so achey cold and shiverry and like Im getting a head cold. Im barelly surviving work :(

I really dont think I will be able to do the DVD tonight and also worried that this might be the end of it (my health kick) arghhhhh

But I did eat very healthily and minimally today and once again no real appettite, so I am definitely not dropping the healthy eating at the moment so hopefully not all is lost.. but the excersise Im afraid wont happen tonight (unless a miracle happens!)

    :(

    Day 7

Ok Ive decided to give myself a bit of a break! I know I really really hate excersise, so it was bloody awesome I did a straight 5 day run even when i was unwell!

This has hopefully really kicked off the healthy plan and weight loss..

I am still continuing to watch my eating and doing really well, again no real hunger pain today and I had the most miserable salad for lunch.

So I will continue on with that and promise to excersise on the weekends (and more if I can but the weekends are minimum and non negotiable)

Also I will weigh myself tonight to see how a week of healthy eating/ excersise played out (or tomorrow morning, hopefully better results). At the end of December my weight has crept up to 10st 9lb (from 10st 6lb)

    :D

    Day 8

I have weighed myself this morning and after a whole week of virtually no eating and exersising for 5 straight days (plus back at work now so walking DS to school club and generally more active).. I have only lost 3lb  and weigh 10st 6lb

I dont know whether Im right in feeling dissapointed as I havent anything to compare myself too really!

I will start the excercise tomorrow and sunday, maybe today but my chest feels like its full of water eurgh but in general I am feeling better. So lets see what next week brings!
  • 3lb is loads! At your weight, 1lb or maybe 2lb weight loss per week is healthy. Anything more is liable to be muscle mass, which lowers your metabolism. It's easy to crash diet, lose several pounds in a short time and then regain it when you stop dieting. The trick is to sustain the weight loss over a long period of time — something I'm trying to do atm, after years of failure!

So well done on your weight loss and take care of yourself :)

    Loan — 424/19,224 = 2.2% Fun fund: 1/100 Credit card balance — 0

Thank you Aspiring, so this means I should be a bit more careful with the diet as dont want to lose muscle. I will up my protein a bit and aim for 2lb loss a week :)

Good luck with your goals! xx

Been very quiet lately.. just lying low waiting for payday.. on Friday :j

Finance-wise - I didnt dip in my 1k emergency fund woohoo! As I was worried that I will because even though its called emergency fund part of it was actually savings for christmas, other savings all bungled together. But I really wanted to keep it and not touch it..

However I do have £300 on the credit card (from when we went shopping in the sales for my and OH clothes/christmas present, we also bought daughters and mine birthday present and had a meal out). So on Friday that will be paid in full!

It is a bit topsy turvy as I could take it out of the savings, some of which were specifically for Christams but Im not being charged interest on CC as long as I pay it in full by the end of the month.

In other news my DS needs new school shoes and trousers again! He really does seem to go through them every few months, Im too lazy to go back through my diary to check but remember writting about it before loads of time (and Im sure before Christmas??)

On Diet front I have gone a bit backwards and then forwards and currently weigh 10st 7lb. But the exercise regime has long been forgotten haha..

Will update back on Friday once Im paid and really hoping to finally start making overpayments to the loan next month!

Loggin on to update my total with the usual due payment. But I really really want to start with the overpayments this month! Literally cannot wait! But have to be sensible and hold off until all my bills have come out at the beginning of February as then will have a much better idea of whats what (also in case something crops up).

But I have paid off the £300 CC of the Christmas/ Birthday stuff so next month I can make a large overpayment as soon as we are paid and then the extra one once the bills come out.

Health wise I started using my FitnessPal app (free) and oh my goodness my diet was really quite bad (high in sugar). So I am on a bit of a health kick with fresh fruit and vegetables (easy on the fruit). Not weighed myself again as yet but I have gone back to my size 10 jeans this morning! Would really reccomend it.

Need to start excercising again though to tone up!
