So were pitching a tent in the garden and my hubby and kids are camping tonight. The expert husband was having trouble with the tent and I was clearly the expert. My 7 year old says to me, how do you know so much about camping, I said well there were so many of us we couldn't afford hotels so we camped everywhere, and we had so much fun.
Starting to regret my enthusiasm for camping today as I think there are gonna be a lot of cheap camping holidays this summer!!:rotfl: Up side is it'll be great family time and you really appreciate what you've got when you come back.......trying to convince myself!!!Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

So went for a trip today. Made it a sort of MSE day by bringing a picnic.
Unfortunately my kids are now at the stage of wanting something when I get even a take away coffee, so I got stung for 2 hot chocs.
Also got stung for a toy each in gift shop. Another £4 down but it's the daft wee things they buy remind them of the fun day I think.
Day out still cheaper than putting them to holiday club and me going to work and you really can't put a price on a fun day out with your kids. They grow so fast!!!Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

Sounds good fun. Have you thought about taking a flask and some juice for you and the kids when you are out? This is what I am trying at the moment. If all else fails weatherwise we can always have a picnic in the car!MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000

Thanks for popping by cookie9.
Yes I maybe need to invest in a wee flask. Would save me £6 odd a day trip at this rate!!!
So today I used my Cash back card to pay for a work lunch.... So now the aim is to not spend cash in my wallet!!!! Need to pay a cash bill later in week that I would have had to take the money out of my account. Probably a bit much effort for 1% cash back!!! Which reminds me I should look for a card with a better cash back rate.Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

:rotfl: I'd say you need to get out more, but that costs money so just stay where you are and admire your shrinking balance :T.
