Mortgage balance updated with usual overpayments eBay sales and interest scooped off the top of savings!!! Saved a few days on childcare because the outlaws are staying but think that savings has realistically been offset by extra food shopping!!! Think my end of Dec goal is a bit optimistic but I'll make a good try anyway.

Did another calc- wondered what I'd have to get mortgage down to for normal mortgage repayment to be £500. It's £150000. Just calculated at my current rate so that's a long way off!:rotfl:

eBay sales have been reposted loads of times so I think I should give up on those items!!!!!

I have sold a few things recently but not much worth talking about and then I used the PayPal account for my bus pass for work!!!

Hi Sque - have just discovered your diary and read through it :)

Another ebayer here - I have been doing quite well but have found recently that it's slowed right off :( I generally get 100 free listing about every 2-3 weeks on top of my free 20 listings per month - and I use those 100 listings (well - some of them!!) to relist everything still unsold (having taken out the occasional item which I've given up on!) I also use the 'relist once for free' option on every listing, and list everything for 10 days.

Postage wise, I now use parcel2go - the hermes option for most things if they would be a parcel. Going via parcel2go is cheaper than going straight to hermes (no idea why?!) and I put £100 in the prepay account with them and got an extra £5 free :)

There is a thread called £1200 in 2015 (or similar) where people are tracking their sales (whether ebay/ facebook/ gumtree or wherever) - you can pick whatever target you want - I've chosen £1500. Not sure I'll achieve it - but - hey - targets should be stretching!!! :D:D

    xx

    Hi greent,

Thanks for popping by. I quite like the ebaying. I did really well with my first few batches of listings. Yes always use realist option. Have a rug I really wanna sell but can't get it shifted at all. It's a John Lewis rug and thought it would go no bother but it hasn't.

Where do you find stuff to sell? I was thinking of when I sell everything I have I might get a wee nosey in car boot sales. Just don't want to fill the house with junk I can't sell!

I've never bought stuff specifically to ebay - but there are 6 of us, so the 4 children create a reasonable amount of stuff to go (although not all saleable!) I also cleared out the loft and sold a load of old/ foreign banknotes which I used to collect as a child (one went for £50+ - I was very chuffed at that!). I've sold some dresses and shoes which I no longer wear, old laptops (people pay good money for those, even if not working properly - and we buy them through our business) and similar. I am running out of stuff to sell at the mo, though!

I sold some lovely rugs on ebay a couple of years ago - they cost me £250 each and I sold the pair for £35 :(
