    so glad to have you back - also visiting your diary might help - on the good days we can get our pom poms out and on the not so good ones the tissues and hot chocolate on good days of course you get to put squirty cream and marshmallows in for the effort - you will need the extra sugar :)

    I like the idea of coming back and saying what has been achieved - I am like you a planner then I cant get myself in gear to complete the tasks - I am going to make a list of what I would like to achieve during the week then I will cross things off and and celebrate what I have achieved - I am going to put my list on the fridge I think

    for me the last couple of weeks have been a disaster I need to get my head down and move forward - I will be starting today

    so how about we report to each other what todays achievements are - see you about 7pm

    and like me you HAVE done it do we can both do it again we just need the right mindset

    You're right (of course) visiting my diary and everyone else's helped a lot. I really should be here more often.

    So, at the early evening point I have:
    • Freecycled a huge pile of Mollie Makes to a uni student, and delivered them since I was in the area today;
    • Bought a few food essentials;
    • Bought three little water colour pans in various shades of purple and pink to help with some artwork I'm hoping to sell;
    • Arranged a monthly payment programme with my water supplier; and
    • Done two loads of washing.
    And way more exciting than all of that, one of my favourite people on the planet has been in touch to ask whether I'd consider having her as a paying lodger during the week for a while as she's got some work in the region and prefers my place to a hotel! I've said yes of course. To be fair, she'd've had a bed no matter what - but the money (which comes from her company) means she'll get a bit more than beans on toast for dinners!

    She's a consultant, so that means that this could all disappear as quickly as the opportunity has arisen - so you all need to be crossing your fingers that this works out. More so because she's the friend that gentle (and not so gently) nudges me to get things done; which I often need!

    Right. Gotta go - back around 7pm ish to meet Missus A for more of a roundup!

    I can't believe I didn't spot you'd moved to a new thread earlier!

    Posting to add you back to the must read list and off to catch up.

    Evening Lovelies

    So, at this point
    • I'm on the third washing load (I'm not that scuzzy, it's the sofa and seat covers as well as bedding and clothes....);
    • the washing up is done;
    • the kitchen surfaces are clear and clean;
    • I've cleaned the hob;
    • I'm almost through cleaning off a bunch of glass art that didn't make the cut, and has been soaking for a while;
    • I've finally sorted a work-techie thingy...which has been hanging around since January!;
    • I've sorted out three bags of stuff for the charity shop, and have probably another one or two to go;
    • I've finally emailed my Letting Agent asking them to forward a request to let me get a water meter fitted - it's only taken me 2 and a bit years to get it done....
    Blooming 'eck - that's not bad! All this despite a lazy morning catching up on recorded tv and day dreaming about designs for my new paintings.

    Plus, did I tell you that I've officially cancelled my TV licence?! Well, I'm in the middle of doing it - the direct debit has been cancelled but apparently I have to tell them nearer the renewal date that I don't want to renew the licence.... say whhaaaaat? That's right folks - my licence expires at the end of April and I told them I will not be renewing, which is apparently something they're not equipped to handle. Talk about opiate of the masses!!

    Anyway, I'm quite excited as the TV and DVD player will be moving to my work room (no aerial, so inspections should be too scary), which will be perfect as I like to work with a DVD on in the background but don't want my craft work to be spread across the whole house (too messy!).

    And having already come to the end of my phone contract, I'm also coming up to the end of my broadband contract with BT.... feels like a good time to change all that to something far cheaper (and hopefully better).

    So much cheerier than this morning!

    Might be worth having a look at Plusnet for interweb - they're a BT company but have some really good deals, mine is £2.50/month for the first 12 months then £9.99 after, with £70 cashback (cashback was a cheque after 8 weeks), obv line rental on top but as long as I cancel in December they've basically paid me to use their internet for a year. :D

    As for the rest of it

    No mischief here or on my diary, nope none at all..... never.....

    And I can't be arsicled to do any of it. :o

    In fact, I slept through most of the weekend - I know. Lots of time wasted, but I was in the bad mood of all bad moods and I'm a great believer that if you can't work it off (and I couldn't) then sleep it off.

    Aw petal those happen. *hugs* And I absolutely totally agree that sleeping helps - your body needs it for rest and rebuilding and your brain needs it for processing time. Plus it's not really a waste of time - better to spend that time recharging than to do things grumpily (and it might just be me, but I find I just end up procrastinating wildly, do naff all anyhow, and end up grumpier - so would have been better to declare a Duvet Day in the first place).

    Also, I highly recommend adding purring moggies to your recovery plan. They're totally marvellous for this because they are delighted to have company (ok possibly just extra warmth) on the duvet or sofa, are the supreme example of lazy, and well, because listening to them being chilled enough to purr helps calm everybody else too :)

    Now, normally I'd write a big old list of things I needed to get done, ignore most of them and depress myself beyond the basic blues for not having achieved anything. Clearly not my finest plan... :D

    So, today I'm going to try something new. Instead of telling you about my plans today, I'm going to come back later and tell you what I actually got done. I'm interested to see whether being accountable is more motivating than planning...

    But you must also tell us if you feel happier - no slogging for the sake of slogging.

    I'm halfway through a book called Instant Motivation - will pass on the secret if there is one :rotfl:

    Wow look at you go! :T

    I was with Plu5net until recently and found them fine - it's the second time I've had a contract with them, and I only left because they couldn't match the deal I got with cashback.

    I will add my thanks too - I have a good internet deal at the moment - but only because I complained I have it very cheaply for 6 months but when that runs out its good to tell them of my options

    Nora you did a huge amount today - will tomorrow be a day of rest to make up for it - :)
    as for the tv licence people not being able to cancel your licence that is pathetic - maybe they are so short staffed they have to deal with the hear and now

    right off to finish watching criminal minds :) and then off to the landing to sort the bannister out before bedtime - I will then go to bed with a hot chocolate and make a list for what I will do tomorrow

    you had such a successful day - did you check your free post code lottery and any polls you do :)
    right off to bed night all
    Emergency fund £10,000
    Several categories with savings in
    Cars, house maintenance, birthdays
    Etc I have about 10 categories

    Really happy to be debt free after being a compulsive spender

    Morning Lovelies

    So, I started the day by almost sleeping through to the alarm (we'll skip past the habitual 2.30am wakesies), and spent my normal snoozed-alarm time laying in bed listening to the birds singing... totally loving that start to the day.

    Then I drove over to the stables to shovel horse poo - a less lovely part of my day, but I love the end result of a clean tidy stable and yard, happy horses, some nice exercise-like endorphins and that warm snuggly feeling you get from helping someone just because you can.

    I've just washed the last of the sofa covers, eaten brekkie (porridge and blueberries if you're interested), and might be chasing it with some chocolate and a cuppa.... ;)

    Last night I plucked up the courage to gently text-nudge someone I know that had expressed an interest in a piece of furniture I'm selling. He came over a week ago last Friday, took measurements and pics, was very interested - then nothing. I made it clear at the time that that it's no probs if he doesn't want to buy the piece - just to let me know, so I can get on with advertising it. So I've just nudged him - it's been a week, that's long enough to work out whether you want something isn't it? Well, unless it's a car or a TV - I hate car and tv shopping with a passion you can only imagine.

    But I digress!

    So, like yesterday, I have lots to get on with - and I'll be back later with my list (or a one-liner - who knows!).

    Have a good 'un!
