Love the tiles, will make such a difference.

When we sold our last house, we replaced all the internal doors to sell it, couldn't believe the difference it made. We were kicking ourselves thinking why didn't we do it sooner.

Had a good read through your diary and you are doing an amazing job. I really wish I'd been overpaying my mortgage since the start, and especially since interest rates dropped. The value of hindsight!

So iv been looking at the finances to get this house finished

    kitchen 3.2k
    flooring and tiles £780
    doors + handles ect £450
carpenter £900 fit kitchen tile kitchen plumb everything up hang doors loft floor few around 6-8 days worth of work other bits and pieces

This is whats getting done this week so all in around £5200

All thats left then is flooring and carpet for upstairs 1.5kish i guess roughly

This means the bathroom will have to just be left as it is to i will however spend £100-200 on it to put a new cabinets mirror ect in it flooring ect but the suit and walls will have to stay the same this will save me 2k

so all in the whole house refurbish will cost me around the 10-11k mark could of done it for 2k less if i didn't go for a few high spec things

bought it for 88k ows me 99k i have a feeling it be worth around 105 min to maby even 115k

so money well spent i say

    nice home = priceless :]

I love renovating - all my houses have needed work and the investment alone makes it worthwhile - but - getting the style you want is brilliant.
Mind you we compromised a lot here - I don't really like the bathrooms much but I wanted post and rail fencing in the field and couldn't do both !
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Ya im the same watty love to make somthing my own

i guess compromise in life is the way to get things done :]

    Quick update
Kitchen is in now just few small things to be finished like handles oven needs to go in and extractor fan

so hopefully the tiling is being started today at some point

Only thing is the doors i ordered wont be here till next weds now and the carpenter is only here till Friday maby Saturday so they wont be done this week or my loft floor

so im thinking about doing the loft floor myself now as i cant wait another few weeks for things to get done

Bet its starting to come together now, great stuff :j

Are you booking carpenter to come back for the downstairs doors?

Great you can do stuff yourself too, my limit is painting and picture hooks :rotfl:. I have put curtain poles up though - almost straight :rotfl:
