Do you need a car? They seem to be very expensive and are probably the #1 big ticket item that temporarily derails people from their MFW goals!0

Hey ed sorry for late reply
I don't need a car out of necessity but i guess a car is more of a hobbie to me than just a daily commute i don't drink smoke gamble or anything really i lead a very simple life
My main hobbies i guess are fishing and my car when i have one i enjoy driving way to much hahaMortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

Quick update on the house
I have now done half of the garden yesterday still wanna get a bit done this evening if i can then all i need is someone to clear it all :]
I also have a kitchen fitter booked
jobs hes doing
fit kitchen
hang 7 doors
put a floor in the loft :] its roughly 6 meters by 7 meters floor space so will be a big useful space
fit shed door
lay wood floor

so fingers crossed the place should be 99% done by end of august now
The place looks really good now tho super happy with looks like a new build inside but with great space and nice amount of land for a semiMortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

Well done Lucky you've made fantastic progress and have some realistic plans in place. We too are doing house stuff this year. I set myself the target of decorating every room by end of September. I started in March and have 3 left so i can see the end in sight (i'm dreading the kitchen though as this is huge and a fiddly shaped room)!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Thanks shang :]
Defiantly it can take a long time to get things done.
I think its easy to pay someone to get the work done and get it done fast when you do it yourself it always come 2nd or 3rd to life work family comes first for me then the house.
Are you having a new kitchen installed ?Mortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

No new kitchen - that's our reward for becoming MF in however long... I don't actually mind the decorating once I've started. It's the whole prep work that drives me crackers!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Aww nice great shout :]

Wow your doing great. End of August sounds like you've really blasted it:0)
Great on the win aswell. Resist a car for as long as possible but im thinking once you get your own place sorted you could use your diy skills to save up extra for a car! It's wee jobs people can't do themselves like curtain poles and loo roll holders you could make a bob or two. My friend paid to get curtain poles put up in a new build property. 15 quid each and 8 windows!Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535
