Quick online search suggests that Velux (or dormer) windows are permitted development, so planning doesn't come into it (with a few small caveats like they can't go higher than the existing roof/past the front of the house).0

Thought id update with some Over payment amounts iv been messing about with
The target is to be MF by 40 so 12 years now
OP £300 a month would be finished in 9 years (this is the min im hoping to hit)
OP £500 a month would be finished in 7 years ( im aiming for this currently)
OP £800 a month would be finished in 5 years (this would be nice but not that realistic)
These are the realistic figures currently but as im self employed things could get harder or even easier just don't know from one day to the next
As i say im hoping for a min £300 a month and if i could do £500 great so i guess my target is £500 a month for this year
Which would get me under the 60k mark end of the year :]Mortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

That all sounds brilliant. It's great that you've worked out overpayments either side of your current aim. I hope that your outer target of 12 years is easily achievable for you and I'll be watching with interest and getting motivation from you.Old Mortgage: [STRIKE]2009:£78500 2010:£76951.71 2011:£74414.49 2012:£71961.35 2013:£67813.54 2014:£64375.16 Current: £55,480.27[/STRIKE]

What plans have you got for the kitchen LuckyinLife? My advice would be to spend as long planning the design as you can - we took about a month thinking about exactly how we'd use ours and it has been time well spent, the new layout works so much better than our old one!
Hi bluefire
Ya iv had the house now for a month or 2 i know what i want and what would work best for the layout its however once the plaster has now dry properly i will mark it all out on the wall to size to make sure it is what i need/want :]Mortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

Your overpayment pot is looking very healthy. Looks like your not loosing momentum at all with all the work you've been doing!Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535
