  • PrincessLou - I dip in and out of flylady, I wish I had more time to post on there but whenever I do contribute everyone is so kind and friendly. Whilst I don't stick to them rigidly the daily lists really do help the house look better :)

    So today...
Our house has gone on the market! :D The people we want to buy off can't formally accept our offer as they don't want to then be stuck waiting til we sell - fair enough - but have said they are very happy with what we offered. So we just need someone to buy ours now! It's happening very quickly but DH and I have always done things this way, and followed our gut, never been wrong before :)

NSD today - much needed as all spare funds will be going in the stamp duty pot! My Lovely grandparents have said they will help us though if needed. DS nursery days officially reduced to one - my lovely friend has offered to have him a few hours as needed so I can get some work done.

DH now away for three weeks, so guess who'll be in charge of getting the house viewing ready :o:p:Dxx

  • Thanks Diamonds. The house we have put the offer on really is forever home material, it needs a fair bit doing to add our own stamp and tidy it up but it could be stunning.

Have you looked at the Marie Kondo thread over on the OS board? It really helped me to declutter. Now I worry I am too ruthless! But what has honestly helped me is to simply stop letting so much come into the house in the first place. As I am sure you guys find, the volume of stuff that enters the house for the kiddywinks is madness. I find it so hard to say no to hand-me-downs of anything, as I am far too polite, so we have ended up with so much over the years!

Recycling bin is packed to the rafters ready for collection tomorrow, and the Xmas tree is on the drive waiting to be collected by a lovely local chap who puts them in his chipper.

Have lovely evenings all, off to try and figure out how to get into the 30s by this time next week - I may be some time! x

Busier times ahead ATB! I'm with diamonds, the thought of clearing our house breaks me into a cold sweat. Mrs SJ is apparently attacking her wardrobe this weekend. Now I would liken it the "The Lion, the Witch and..." You get the meaning! I'm staying well clear, other than offering to carry the bags downstairs for charity shop as it'll significantly increase my daily steps!

That's fantastic! Fingers and toes are crossed for you ATB
  • Thanks guys :)

Whether we get the house we have seen or not, we are still going to move - a small change in area means we can get a vast amount more for our money. So, in the spirit of being organised, I have decluttered a bag of paper recycling today, and a huge chazza bag which will be collected from our doorstep on Monday - oh I do love filling a charity bag!

Still working on a plan to be in the 30s by this time next week. I haven't spent any money today, don't plan on spending any tomorrow, and will be aiming to declutter the freezer over the coming weeks.... freezer surprise for tea anyone?! x
