  • Thank you all, Cath and Tim lovely to meet you :):)

We have done the sums and all told we were owed £6k by this particular customer :(:( We have other invoices that are due for payment in the next fortnight though, so I am hoping by the end of the month we will be back on track and DH will be able to take a weekly wage again. Mr VAT man needs to be paid at the start of September, then things should ease off a little.

In MFW / savings news I have:

    1. Done weekly shop at Lidl - £32 spent :):) DH away next week so our food bill is much lower
    2. Invited a friend round here tomorrow as opposed to meeting at soft play which invariably eats up the best chunk of £20
    3. Put a bit of money into the saving pot - only a small amount but its a boost to see it with something in it :):)

Have lovely weekends all, best wishes ATB xx

  • Hello friends from a snuffly ATB!

I am very full of cold but other than that fine. Not been saving much nor have I been spending much either. Had a lovely morning with DD at the library, DS is at nursery. Taking DD to see the Minions film tomorrow can't wait :o:o

Hope you are all well and happy. I hope by the end of next week some more of DHs customers will have paid and the pressure will ease a bit.

    Take care friends. X

  • Hey ATB, currently at the library and procrastinating so thought I would pop by and say Hi. How was the Minions movie? How old is your DD? Mine will be 4 in November but we have never taken her to thee cinema (feel a bit guilty) but maybe I will get DH to take her when we are back from holiday.

Anyway I hope you are enjoying the Sun xxx

  • Hi Diamonds, it was fab! DD was 3 at the start of the month and it's the first time we've taken her. She was a bit restless towards the end but generally she loved it.

Lots of exciting updates to report but I'm on the iPad and I'm so slow on this, I'll fire the lappy up & post from there xxx

  • Hello friends :):)

Long time to speak, things have been a bit hectic round here to say the least! I am having a well earned day off tomorrow and I can't wait :) Not very MFW but I have booked in for a facial and pedicure, its been so long since I treated myself i'm really excited :)

In money news we are solvent again, hurrah :):) I am still making Tilly-tidies to the mortgage but I am stashing everything into a spare pot in the main, which will give us a buffer and also some funds to make a big OP in December I hope :)

I checked my spreadsheet and to stay on track we need to be at £131k by 1st March - eminently doable I reckon.

Off to update my signature, the 40s are soo close! x

Well done on getting solvent again so quickly :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Thanks Watty :) we are lucky that both of us have been busy recently so we had some invoices due in, which were paid on time - one of which was even paid early!

The solvency is temporary as we will need to pay Mr VAT man at month end - these quarters come round very quickly - so will need to use the OD again for that but the bank aren't charging us any interest on it so it's fine for a temporary thing.

    In happy news:

    - I looked after four kids on my own all day and survived!
    - DH had cooked tea already and it smells yummy
    - I have my pamper time tomorrow to look forward to
    - I've tidied some money to savings :)

  • Hello friends,

I had a lovely pampering time yesterday, possibly the best facial I have ever had in my life. When I got home DH said he would treat me to one of their pamper packages for my birthday in October :):)

Still being very careful with our spends here. I have had a good week work-wise so some money has gone into the savings pot. After the scare of a few weeks ago I am too scared to make any large OPs, so intend to save save save until December then drip feed some nice chunky OPs on to the mortgage :):) Well, that is certainly the plan unless I get mightily impatient which wouldn't be unheard of!

    Have wonderful weekends all x

  • Hello friends,

How is everyone today? We are having a lovely, chilled weekend. NSD today, and hopefully tomorrow too. I have been reading through some diaries and feel so inspired, especially by Tilly and Watty for achieving their MF goals. It has given me that kick of inspiration again that I first had when we started this journey - we have achieved sooo much already this year and I am not going to let our recent setback get me down.

DH company has some invoices due in for payment next week, but I suspect some may be paid the week after as a lot of people are away next week. I also have some unpaid invoices, I am going to make a list of them after I type this, they are around £2k I think, so I need to start pestering people next week.

Our normal payment goes out on Tuesday which should take us very close to being in the 151s, eeek the 40s are so close! I am going to meal plan too for the week to keep spends nice and low. £100 transferred to the savings/OP pot :):)

    Best wishes, ATB xx :):)
