I didn't manage a NSD - spent £6 on getting the car washed and polished. In fairness I then cleaned the inside myself :):) and sent £20 to the mortgage. I want to be rid of this dratted thing so much, I need to up my game... not sure how though... x

    Good morning friends,

I had a really productive work meeting last night, and will be able to work out later how much my pay is this week - I'm estimating somewhere around the £700 mark which would be wonderful especially considering I didn't earn anything last week due to being away :T:)

I am going to do a spending diary in August, I've dusted off a pretty notebook to use :):)

The normal mortgage payment goes in on the 1st which will take us into the 152s, I'm really itching to be in the 40s now :):)

As I am now self employed I have a tax bill to pay in January of around £2.5k. It is my first full year of being SE and I'm wondering whether HMRC will let me pay that tax off over 12 months next year? Does anyone have any experience of this and, if so, do they charge interest? If it's interest free I'd rather throw that money at the mortgage :):)

Have lovely days all, time for a cuppa xx

You do amazingly well to manage such OP's being self employed, not sure id be able to keep on track with it all, especially when you throw in Mr Tax!

So how long till you hit those 140's? We're agonizingly £1,096 away from destroying the 130's which seemed impossible this stage last year, but is now about 8wks away!

Thanks SJ, we are around £2,800 from the 140s, we will get there in August I am positive of it!

The tax side for DH is really tricky, he is a limited company and VAT registered so I feel like we are permanently paying out be it PAYE, VAT, Corporation Tax, self assessment etc. The taxman gets far too much from the ATB household in my opinion!

I feel like that about the taxman too - between my corporation tax, vat and own tax bill I am sure the taxman gets more than me!
(Don't think tax man will let you off either!)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Hello friends,

Answer from the taxman was as expected, oh well nothing ventured and all that! My pay hit the account today but I am going to make OPs and review everything in Monday, it's been a long week and right now all I want is to switch my brain off.

Have lovely weekends all x ETA just Tilly Tidied some money to the mortgage x

  • Good evening friends,

How are we all? I do sometimes wonder if I'm wittering on to myself sometimes, but it doesn't matter if I am it still keeps me focused posting on here :):):)

Normal payment went out today, and I made a healthy £500 OP. Must tot up how much we have OPd for our current challenge and amend my signature. I will admit to spending today - £36 at the garden centre - but all on gifts for ...... The big hohoho:o.... which were at 50% off and will be very well loved by the recipients.

We had a fabulous weekend for DDs birthday. DH away this week so my food bill drops a lot. Work meeting tomorrow when I will get an idea of this weeks pay, I would love for us to to be in the 40s by 1st September :):) that will require some hardcore OPing but let's give it a bash hey folks :)

    G'night all xx
