Hello friends,
How lovely to log on and see posts on my thread, which has been sadly neglected in the past few weeks. Things are ticking over here, fairly slowly on the savings front as my work has been very very quiet so we've had very little spare in the budget. Things seem to be picking up now though, which is good news
We have also been busy looking round DDs school nursery where she starts in September, its all so exciting and she has to wear a uniform even though its only the nurseryso I've been having lots of proud mummy moments recently.
I think I need a mini goal so here it is - £3,000 in the savings pot by the end of July
I have sold a couple of things on eBay recently so off to transfer that money from Paypal to the savings potATB is back with avengeance
Have lovely, sunny afternoons all xx

Aww..that must be so excting for you. My twins don't start nursery until next September (2016), but I can't wait - it's the start of a whole new adventure for them. Gosh, a little uniform! Is it a private school by any chance?
Anyway, keep at it - you are making giant leaps in becoming mortgage free. :TMortgage - £105,5000 -

Bless you PrincessLouI really must post more often, I am so much more focussed with my MFW friends support
No it's not a private school. I'm not sure I entirely understand the reasoning behind the policy, but it will be so lovely to see her in a little uniform - I'm welling up again at the thought! Ok so its sunny, Andy is playing today and we have no real plans so a relaxing NSD it is. It is big bills day tomorrow when all DDs go out so I should be able to shuffle some to the savings pot. Have lovely days all xxMFW

Good Morning friends, I hope you are all well today. My MFW job for today is to write to our mortgage provider and ask them to confirm in writing just how much if any remains of our 10% OP allowance for this year.
I am fairly certain we have already hit it, but I just want them to confirm if there is any left, even if it is just a few ££££s that we can still OP this year every little helps right?
Have lovely days all, enjoy the tennis xx
ETA normal monthly payment has come out so the mortgage balance today is £154,626.37MFW

Good Morning, ATB,
I've been catching up on your posts, and must say that your progress is astounding. When you start off with a mortgage in the high six figures, and you see 30 years in front of you of being in hock to the bank, it is so easy to become daunted by the task.
I have significant BTL debt, approaching 400k, and am managing OPs of 1,500 per month .. But oh, Lordy, there's a long road ahead. No buckling, however. It will be done.
One of the mortgages was 146k two years ago, and now stands at 88k. Thanks to the government, for giving me access to my pension funds. With these and regular OPs, I expect to be MF by my official retirement age .. Which leaves all that lovely rental income to spend on cruises and whatnot.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon. One tip, though. All OPs and no spends risk making ATB a dull girl. Give thissen a break now and then if you happen to miss target.0 -
