    That is a great OP!

Your day at the seaside sounds lovely. We've a couple of days on the Devon Coast booked in July- can't wait!

We had toyed with the idea of a foreign holiday later this year with the children, but our day at the seaside was such good fun we are planning a staycation instead. We are very lucky to live just an hour from the Yorkshire coastline so rather than spend ££££s on a trip abroad we are going to hotfoot it to Whitby, Filey etc instead.

The OP made yesterday has hit the account so the balance as at today's date is £158,545.27.

I was reading some more of MrMoneyMoustache and ERE last night and it got me wondering, does anyone else ever feel like we could be doing more and being more extreme in our efforts to get rid of our mortgages? I really want to review my SOA and see where we can cut back further. The desire to shed this mortgage is so strong I just wonder what else we can do to be rid of it even faster. xx

The mortgage numbers seem to be spiralling! :j Keep up the great work!

Have you thought of posting an SOA on here? It really is helpful to have other people take a look and suggest ways you could cut back further. Sometimes a second pair of eyes can see things in a different way.

    Your staycation plans sound lovely.

I'm sure there'll be more that you can cut, just depends how far you are willing to go. It's a decision that only you can make as you will know where the balance lies and perhaps some trial and error is the way to go to see how far you are willing to cut.

I second PrincessLou- post your SOA as other people's comments are usually fairly helpful in these situations.

    Thanks guys.

Will really consider posting our SOA, it seems scary 'putting it out there' but if anyone can help us it's MSE folk! X:);)

I posted a monthly budget rather than a full SOA. It seemed less revealing! Definitely worth it though.

£550 OP made which far surpasses what I thought we could manage. Really pleased, might have a cuppa to celebrate! X

Great overpayments. Think MSE folk with force me to hand back the forum keys if they saw my SOA!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Thanks Watty. I'm still not sure if I have the courage to post mine yet, as money really does seem to leak sometimes round here!

Feeling a bit meh today. its been a long week at home solo with the kids, DH back late tonight then off again on Monday for 7 days. I mustn't grumble as its all work, but sometimes it is tough flying solo with two small people, and trying to run my own business. Roll on kids bedtime, double corrie and a well deserved glass of vino or two x

Feeling really under the weather today so not much done at all. DS is teething therefore a real grump today, and DD decided to get up at 5.45 :o:o and has been tired & grumpy all day. I sometimes feel like our kids will be this small forever and it will never get easier!

    OP made :)x
