I had a bit of a perfume binge today and I bought the Prada Amber, Flowerbomb Extreme and Diptyqye Tam Dao.. I know it was a lot, but I'm facing more major bowel surgery soon and I wanted to cheer myself up.. I'm happy with the ones I bought and that should last me a looong time!

Oh dear faerielight, I hope the surgery goes well and it's not too painful :( I don't blame you for wanting to cheer yourself up. Enjoy smelling gorgeous!

I like niche scents too, Jenniewb, I love diptyque and tom ford.. can you recommend any Diptyque ones? I love my Phylokos but I've not smelt them all/

Possibly all of the Diptyque range!
No seriously, I have a few and what I like really does change witb my mood. I chop and change with the weather too. I like Tam Dao in the winter- although it's very similar to Wonderwood (C'd'G).

Do Son is really nice for late summer, very sweet but with some depth. Eau Duelle is also another good one for Spring/Summer, again very sweet but wears well I think.
Vetyver is my favourite at the moment, it sort of has a green scent to it, just feels like it suits my mood at the moment. There is another which I think is L'eau Eau which is quite nice, and Lierre was my favourite until a few months ago. Figure is another which is great but as it's been so over-copied by cheaper brands (and sometimes copied very well!) it does feel a bit too everywhere especially at Christmas so as much as I like that scent I wont buy it if AirWick can make a suitable copy!

There are quite a few more Diptyque scents out at the moment: Lavande, Rose, Hesperides...which are all good and IMO the scents by Dipdyque seem to last all day on my skin which makes me not feel as bad as I probably should do for spending so much money on them in the first place! (Even if it was a while ago!)
  • Narciso Rodriguez for Her Eau de Parfum (not toilette)

Nearly everytime I wear it, I get complimented or asked if I'm wearing that scent by a random person :)

I also like Jimmy Choo and Pure Poison by Dior but I guess the smell doesn't hold as long in those as those don't seem to be noticed as often.

I'm looking to expand my perfume collection , so I thought it would be interesting to see what you guys love. I'll start.. my top perfume is Ambre by Loccitaine but it has been discontinued,I love warm cosy , comforting scents, but I have been recently drawn to fresher scents. I have Phylosycos by Diptyque and it smells like freshly snapped stems, it's very unique. And I just bought blind a couple of fragrances from TK Max.. Lolita Lempika, which is quite unusual and smells like cherry bakewells and licorice, plus Viva La Juicy which is a nice fruity floral.

I am wearing the L'Occitane Ambre & Santal today (is this the one you mean, that's been discontinued?) Must admit that I have to be in the mood to wear it.

My favourite L'occitane one is Jasmine & Bergamot and I also like the Acacia one though I don't have any of that at the moment.

My favourite is Vivienne Westwood's Naughty Alice. I get so many compliments when I wear it. I do like all her perfumes actually.

I also like Burberry Body. Also Philosophy's Grace range of perfumes, although they don't last long so I wouldn't pay full-price for them.

I too love the Philosophy fragrances especially AmazngGrace and Pure Grace although I only own Pure Grace at the moment. I agree though that they are not long lasting.

I also wear Marc Jacobs Daisy (have had a few bottles of this), Marc Jacobs Honey (not a huge fan of this), Tommy Girl which is very light, Boss Woman (have owned this particular bottle for years and keep trying to use it up quickly), Givenchy Very Irrisistable (which has sat on my desk at work for ages unused), L'occitane Verbena (which is too zesty for me really although I did used to love a Clinique one that was zesty - may have been called Simply Be?), TBS Amazonian Lily (which is just ok) and Jack Wills Hope Cove body spray which is very fresh smelling.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • Oh dear! I have so many...

My ultimate favourite so far is Tom Ford - Black Orchid
But I also love and have the following....
    Chanel Madamoiselle
    Chanel Chance
    Chanel No. 5
    Dior J'adore
    Bvlgari Pour Femme
    Gucci Premiere

Yes, as you can guess, my weakness is expensive perfumes. I cannot stand cheap smelling or celebrity perfumes
