I have about 7 which I rotate- I can't say I have a favourite because I go with whatever mood I am in and what I feel like wearing (and also have to avoid certain perfumes which others don't like!)
I really like Wonderwood by CdG in the winter, and Diptyque during the summer. I had to get the originals because I spent literally 2 years scouring the internet for decent imitations, couldn't find any anywhere and even ebay was not that much of a saving so ended up getting the Diptyque from the Space NK sale for half price 2 and 3 years ago. I also like some of the Philosophy Grace perfumes but they don't seem to stay put all day and only last an hour or two at best so didn't repurchase.

I don't tend to gel with the more well known stuff, just doesn't appeal, each to their own though and I really like that many people don't have a clue where I get my perfume, what it is or wear anything similar themselves. I sort of feel a bit more like I've found my own niche!

My mum used to adore Rive Gauche, but it also started smelling weird on her. It coincided with the start of the menopause so she wondered if her skin chemistry has changed.

BTW does anyone know of a site where you can put in perfumes you like and it tells you what perfumes notes or groups you like? I hate most perfumes out there, but really love the ones I do like. I wish there a way to find out what I should look for so I don't waste my time when perfume shopping.

I rotate a few, but always have a bottle of Burberry Weekend and a bottle of Next Cashmere on the go as I love them both! I'm no perfume connoisseur though!

At the moment I also have Clarins Eau des Jardins, the Lidl fake Coco Mademoiselle (this it's called Suddenly Madame Glamour), Avon Far Away Exotic and loads of Ted Baker minis and one big bottle of Ted Baker XO which my boyfriend's nan always buys me for no apparent reason...I guess because they are quite cheap but they smell OK.
  • I like niche scents too, Jenniewb, I love diptyque and tom ford.. can you recommend any Diptyque ones? I love my Phylokos but I've not smelt them all/

I like Cacharel, Eden, it's in the green bottle, the blue bottle's vile! Whenever I wear Eden people always comment on how good I smell.
I have a bottle of Eden in my drawer not used it for ages. The blue one is LOU LOU I used to like it but I think they must have changed the formula it smells like germolene now. Lou Lou blue was much nicer but discontinued.
Britain is great but Manchester is greater
  • I see Lidl have bought out their own version of chanel no5 for valentines gift ideas. I had a quick whiff and it does smell a bit like it. I wonder what women think if their partner gives them the Lidl versions?

  • My classic is Cerruti 1881.

However, my 2 new faves are Dolce by D&G and the one I love love love is Sporty Citrus by Michael Kors. I get so many comments when I wear it, a lady chased after me in sainsburys the other day to ask me what I was wearing!

I had a bit of a perfume binge today and I bought the Prada Amber, Flowerbomb Extreme and Diptyqye Tam Dao.. I know it was a lot, but I'm facing more major bowel surgery soon and I wanted to cheer myself up.. I'm happy with the ones I bought and that should last me a looong time!
