  • BTW, if any current AQA workers want to become friends or something, then PM me & we can exchange emails & yahoo messenger IDs. I'd love to talk to "colleagues" lol. It would be great to get to know other AQA workers. =)

Have sent you a PM :)

    Congrats, White!

I'm trying to set up my induction; I'll hopefully have that done by the end of the week. Then I have to answer those 30 questions! Does anyone know how long it typically takes an SR to review a trainee's first 30 questions? Do they ever do this on weekends?

I'm very suprised they have such high standards. I've asked questions twice now and on one occasion they answered the wrong question, on the other occasion they not only answered the wrong question but also gave out incorrect information in the answer.

I may now ask exactly the same question again and kepp complaining until one of their supposedly paid "professional" researchers gets it correct.

Any Question Answered - or not. If they said they couldn't find the answer I wouldn't be impressed but would accept it, but giving out wrong information and not answering the question are unacceptable.

Were you rejected by them by any chance?

I used to work for them and whilst the odd mistake is definately made, they do have very high standards.

Each researcher is assessed on a regular basis (monthly to start with) and if they drop below a certain %, they are suspended.

It sounds like you were a bit unlucky getting 2 bad answers, but they do have thousands of regular customers (some have asked over 3,000 questions), so can't be all that bad.

Researchers are not allowed to send a sorry answer unless the question has been waiting for more than 30 minutes. The policy, if the answer cannot be found, is to try and send useful information related to the subject.

Also, researchers have no control over refunds or charges for the messages.

You do get penalised for bad punctuation or spelling.

I hope you get a better response with your next question.
  • I just had my Induction today. It went pretty well! Now I get to answer 30 questions...I'm going to take my time. I'm so nervous.

    White, when is your Induction?
  • Angel, I've just received my packet with all the information to review today. I won't be contacting my SR until I've got it pretty well memorised. There's an awful lot to remember! We should meet up on Yahoo Messenger.

I'm genuinely interested in the way AQA work. Why is there a half hour cut off time - why so much focus on answering quickly? I personally don't think an hour or two would be unreasonable.

If AQA can't find the answer and send you "useful info." do they charge you for it, because the info. may be interesting but not what you asked for.

Do AQA tell their researchers if they give out a wrong answer or do they just give you a refund and ignore your complaint otherwise?

Does anyone here actually work for AQA proper - i.e. not a self employed researcher, but say a recruiter?

Yes - I know this is going off topic from AQA applicaitons but just wanted to ask general quesitons.

They aim to answer a question within 30 minutes and the policy does not allow any researcher to send related info or an apology within that time.

This allows the question to be viewed by as many researchers as possible.

They do charge for all replies, whether related info is used or not. The researchers have no power to offer a refund or send a free text.

If a researcher answers a question wrongly, they will usually receive an email from one of the supervisors and there is also the regular review to keep them on their toes.

On the whole, AQA was a good company to work for, but it is definately not easy money, you have to thoroughly earn it.
  • I just answered my first 30 questions & emailed my SR. I might get the results of my first review as early as Monday, but I don't know! Gosh I'm nervous, even though I think I answered each question well. I went slowly & put a lot of care into each question. I hope I get the results soon, & that I become a bona fide AQA researcher! =)
  • Guess what, everyone? One of my answers from last night was chosen as a Brilliant Answer & is currently featured on AQA's homepage! It's the first one (about the Scandinavian fish dish lol). I'm not even a full-fledged AQA Researcher yet, I'm just a trainee...& yet I've already had a Brilliant Answer! I'm so excited, & can't wait to point it out to my SR when he comes online lol. Maybe this will even help with my first review!

I stayed in the Hard Queue until the last about 3 questions because I wanted to start out the month with a low skip rate. I also just like being able to see questions beforehand lol.

I'm getting really antsy...I really want to answer more questions but I'm not allowed to because I've obviously reached the limit at this point. I hope I get my review on Monday & that I'm officially welcomed into AQA!

Well done! Having answered about 1,500 questions in the time I've been with AQA, I've only had about 3 or 4 be put forward for Brilliant Answers, so you're doing well to get one before you've even finished your first 30!
