Just wondered if anyone can help.
I downloaded the forms etc for this when they were last advertising for Uk applicants, about two weeks ago, but havent done them yet, will it be too late now if they not accepting applicants. Wasnt sure if the fact they sent mer the forms meant i can still apply anyway??
thanks0 -

I'd say you might as well go for it as you don't lose anything by applying. As far as I'm aware they're still recuiting.
Wanted to ask about the self-employed registering thing...I started at the beginning of November and registered straight away. Today I phoned the Tax Credit people to tell them my change of status and they asked about what hours I'm doing. Obviously this is completely random and will vary day to day, month to month. Wasn't sure what to say so I said 10 hours a week, but I'm sure I currently do a lot more than this. What have other people in the same situation said? Also, haven't had my 'unique tax reference number' through yet. How long does it normally take?0 -
With regards to the whole tax issue. If I work fulltime on a normal single persons tax code does the self employed AQA thing affect this or will my tax code remain the same and I just pay tax on my AQA earnings at 22%.0

I've been accepted by AQA and have my introduction this evening, has anyone ever failed this? I know you say that most of it is answering 'yes' and 'ok' but am worried about the one question if I'm put on the spot (nerves etc.)0

If your full-time job uses up all of your tax allowances (i.e. you earn more than about £7.5k), your PAYE tax code will be the same with your employer and you will pay a flat rate of 22% (20% from next April!) on your AQA earnings as declared by self-assessment each year. You still register as self-employed.
You may also have to pay additional National Insurance contributions, or you may be able to apply for exemption depending on your level of self-employed earnings.0 -
Thanks Gav, helpful info there. I'll get onto the revenue to register as self employed. I'm looking to earn about £100 per month on AQA so if I put £25 aside each month I should be covered.0

Really stuck on the Stewie Griffin question :-/0

Gav one more thing if you dont mind as you seem quite up on the tax side of things. Is there a minimum earnings threshold I'd need to reach before paying tax at 22% on my AQA earnings or because I use up my tax free allowance on my job I'd pay 22% on anything I earn with AQA.0

whats the question jayne?0

Who's funnier: Cartman or Stewie Griffin?
Just don't know which way to go with the answer.0
