Gav one more thing if you dont mind as you seem quite up on the tax side of things. Is there a minimum earnings threshold I'd need to reach before paying tax at 22% on my AQA earnings or because I use up my tax free allowance on my job I'd pay 22% on anything I earn with AQA.

There is no threshold if your main job uses up your allowances.
At £100 a month you would be eligible for a Small Earnings Exemption Certificate from any additional National Insurance.
Also if you speak to an accountant you might be able to deduct the cost of part of your broadband/electric bill etc., from your profit. That can get quite complicated though and needs expert advice
  • Lynnie - the induction is fine, just feel confident in yourself. They did ask me to do a question on the spot, but I just took a deep breathe and did my best. And my senior researcher said it was a great answer!

You've passed the test so theres no reason why your induction won't be ok.

Thanks Andrew, but the trouble is, you can't quote from places can you, and give others opinions, like 'so and so thinks whatever'. I was trying to give more of an objective answer on who is the funniest using some kind of evidence. God knows. The other questions are just as bad. Maybe I should give up :-(
  • Jayne, just give/make up your own opinion.

Hi Lynnie, there's really nothing to worry about.

I had my induction last night and it was fine.

One piece of advise I would give is read the induction notes you receive before your induction begins, then you won't be in such a panic and will know what's what when you log in.

    Good luck

Thanks for the advice, I'll let you all know how I get on, I'm really looking forward to getting started.
  • I'm really bored of AQA now. There seems to be hardly any questions coming in - most time I log on, its just the hard queue left - and the questions seem to be getting more and more obscure. I find myself logging on, answering two or three questions, then logging off wondering why I wasted my time.

Anyone else get this or am I just a misery-guts!?

OH MY WORD....Have had a reply and I've been accepted! That was so quick! I only sent in my forms a couple of days ago!

I shall fill in the contract and send it back tonight, plus signed copy in post tomorrow...I actually feel optimistic that we can clear our credit card debts now.... :)
