Potential benefit fraud

As I'm sure most of you know by now that I'm totally clueless about benefits
so I'll just ask a question:
What if...he hasn't changed his address and claimed WTC for himself, partner and 2 children, would he receive anything like he appears to be claiming ?0 -
Somehow, tax credits have confirmed to OP's girlfriend that he doesn't claim for the children. Not sure how she managed to get this personal information from tax credits though. Seems she is getting access to a lot of his supposed secure data!!0

I wonder if OP would still allow this person statements to come through their letterbox without notifying the bank if it was a credit card statement0

It could have gone something like this:
TC claimant: Can you confirm that Jeremy and Philippa are on my claim?
TC adviser: Yes, I can.
TCC: Does that mean they can't be on anyone else's claim?
TCA: Yes, it does.0 -
Yes the DWP will carry out an investigation and then ask him to attend an interview. He sounds very cheeky I work 30 hours a week and have a debilitating illness and I cant get anything else other than my own earned for wage on which I pay tax and NI. It annoys me how some people get away with murder like this man you mention, I know someone getting all sorts of benefits saying he cant walk properly etc and he can.
The DWP won't investigate tax credits. Tax credits are dealt with by HMRC, a totally dofferent organisation.0 -

The mum would be none the wiser and wouldn't now if an error had been made.....so the OP still wouldnt be sure the kids were not being claimed by the father....0 -
Could it be a joint claim with childcare perhaps - that might explain why the figures are so high, and why girlfriend is able to get hold of confidential information, and why the ex boyfriend has his tax credits paid into a bank account registered at her address.
OP did you discuss this with your girlfriend before reporting her ex?0 -
hhhhmmmmm lot of red flags to this story as others have said seems all about the ex.
your clearly annoyed he lives rent free..! he gets £160 a month in WTC and he earns £1000 a month .
looks like either the green eyed monster has show its ugly head or the bitterness bukaroo has come along.
its all good and easy wanting to report someone but i doubt you will tell them it was you that did seeing as you might be opening his bank statements to get the figures your getting which is cleanly illegal in itself
reporting someone with out factual evidence is very poor indeed imagine if someone did that yourself it would not be very nice would it . you might be best staying out of his affairs and sticking to your own
just my opinion that's all0
