How on Earth does anyone ever win on Twitter!!

well said Toni, it makes me feel sick to see all the nasty comments aimed at one blogger. am glad she holds her head up high and ignores but she must be so upset to see it day in day out
the problem with winning on twitter si there is no actualy way of choosing a random winner, all the apps and retweets get lost in confusion and only the top tweets ie. ones who tweet alot, interact alot, have lots of followers etc may get to the top of the list, so say 1000 people enter, then the company may only see 200 of them at the most so they pick one of them, its very common to win if you retweet last minute as the company is lazy and just chooses one from the last 10 retweets.
its not a fair system but until its sorted then these bloggers and spammers will win as its only their retweets that show most of the time. it also helps to interact as the company will then see your tweets higher up than other peoplesTop wins - £10,000 lottery/daily mirror, £5000 asda vouchers, £1000 washing machine, 2 week canaries cruise, VIP trip to the olympics, 46" 3D TV, personal chef, kitchen aid mixer, £1000 tesco vouchers - latest prize £10,000 road trip with kit Kat0 -
I've had 9 Twitter wins so far this year including 1 today. I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to how to win as I see people with huge amounts of followers win as well as people with handfuls of followers win.
I find Facebook a lot harder to win from tbh & i've only had 2 wins from there this year.0 -
WOW Vikkimichelle wish I knew your secret. For me it's the complete opposite find Facebook far easier to win on although I don't win loads but Twitter has just been a complete non starter!:jCertified Comping Addict :j

So horrid to see the amount of bullying that poor girl gets. People jump to conclusions about her and without any proof rip her to shreds on a daily basis.
Disgusting behaviour by grown adults to a 21 year old, the hateful posts to her have been shocking, it's become an obsession for some.
Do people actually think about the repercussions of bullying?
I have seen the damage it can do to someone I know someone who tried to hang herself because of bullying.
I have said it's bullying openly to some involved but it's a waste of breath as it's mob mentality as per usual. It is jealousy at the basis of it all but who knows if there is something more to it. I cant comment much as i havent seen all the things shes won over time as i always miss the announcements of winners due to work.
Its happened before when another prolific comper used to win the majority of competitions, she got accused of working for the companies she won from, being a PR girl etc.
With Twitter, i think its best just to enter and if you win you win, if you dont, move on to the next comp.
If people spent more time comping less time coming up with conspiracy theorys they might win more.
Di Coke suggested twitter use an algorithm similar to google where the more followers, clicks, visits to page etc a profile gets the higher up it shows in search results. From my own experience it's true on occasions where I've been retweeted loads, had lots of interaction with people on twitter meaning more mentions etc I've been more successful.. but at the end of the day none of us know how twitters algorithms work or how companies choose winners but it is unfair as soon as someone wins to jump on their back and accuse them of cheating which happens a lotYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I use Twitter for comps only, just the odd tweet otherwise.
I won a Very.Shoes comp after 4,600 tweets !! So i reckon my odds are not great, i still do them tho as I find retweeting a very quick button press...0 -
The day I have to grovel to enter a comp is the day I pack it in.I do it just for fun and whatever I win is a bonus0

I'm a new comper and secured my first Twitter win this morning...and there was no brown-nosing involved!

on twitter - save a search for 'win your (preferred prize!)', or win (town name), and see what occurs!
movie production, tech firms, magazines etc are a good bet to follow, or add to a list.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
i think you shouldnt bother with the ones that tag #bbloggers
it's clear who the winners will be0
