    An update...

    Confirmed as closing:-

    Wakefield No Frills
Eastbourne Focus (Announced on 24th August)
    Walton Focus (Announced Today)

Remember! Be gentle with the staff, They have just lost their jobs. :shhh:

All other stores, still up for sale at the moment.

Not suprised the Walton store is closing. worked a shift there a couple of weeks ago, since Ed Flannaghan thinks our liquidation is one of the best kept (and best performing) No trolleys (all been stolen), and cant leave displays out for the same reason. I.E. we need a monkey bar building and putting on display. Cant do that, would be gone within the hour. Inside, a scrap dealer would be in a world of his/her own
  • Walton is closing but a brand new store is under construction at Ormskirk.
  • AFAIK they are (or were) owned by Wickes so why don't they sell at Wickes prices?

sorry if its already been said nut Focus owned Wickes for a bit (about 6 months) then sold them to Travis Perkins

Some more confirmed closures are being announced today / tomorrow. I will try to post tomorrow night as it's not fair on the staff to do it now...

Some have to close in 4 weeks so get ready for major discounting!!
  • i myself work for focus, and although i am not in a closure store, i hope this information will be helpful.. regarding the kitchen and bathroom sale there has been no communication sent down saying that there will be any further reductions so 70% is as far as i know the largest reduction you will get for now.
the kitchens and bathrooms are being discontinued and the stores that are remaining open will be getting a new range, so if you are thinking of ordering either of the above ask the member of staff who is ordering your kitchen to check availability of stock and ensure you get everything now as once it has totally been discontinued from stores you will not be able to get additional stock.

EMcG / Sweep, I'm about to order a kitchen (actually I was when there was 50% off plus another 10% of that making 55% in total), but was pleased I left it as the discount went up to 60% off.

Now that some stores are closing I'm concerned I may lose out if I order now and kitchens are discounted further...

My question to EMcG is where did you see 70% off the kitchens? The website states only 60% and I don't think you can use an advantage card in conjunction with the discount (perhaps Sweep can verify for me)?

Also, does Sweep think further discounts to kitchens will come into effect? The one I'm after is from Bishop Auckland branch and is not one scheduled for closure. The kitchen itself is only stocked at larger Focus superstores...

Thanks to anyone who can help.
you can use discount cards along side the kitchen discount offer , but only in stores that are not closing. hope that helps

Does anyone know if focus still do the 10ft trampoline for £99? It was a good deal before and if its still running should be unbeatable

as far as i know we wont be getting any more trampolines in store in the near future, and most stores have sold out.

The £99 trampoline is now only available on the website but it's now £149.99!!! The original closure stores have a 10ft trampoline but it's £129.99 less 10% = £116.99. The £99 one was miles better quality than the new one!

PS, I keep forgetting to bring the list of new closure stores home... sorry!! Of the orginal 52 closure stores, 1 has closed, 2 are closing allready, 12 of them are starting to close in the next few weeks (they have store closing signs up!) due to the stores being purchased by Homebase or Wickes. There are also 30 other stores announced that weren't on the original list that will also be closing due to them been sold to Homebase, Wickes, Sainsburys and Tesco.

Apologies if you live far away from Bedford but this may not just be local

Bedford-Ashburnham Road Store has taken all 10% off Stickers down and made it a General Sale
Some stuff in there is 70% (Kitchens Etc) Assistant states that reductions will range from 20% upwards but could not state on what.
Looks like Bedford is closing soon as there is a notice on the Delivery Entrance Door stating:-
This Store is not accepting any more deliveries.
Please contact (Tel No)/Store Manager for further details

Looks like I will be in Bedford Store in the next few days.

    Bedford Store-Ashburnham Road
Last Day of Trading is Sunday 21 October
Will Not give me Car Pass after this date as they have said Store is Closing on the Sunday.
