Hi,

I'm one of the workers at the barking branch, we're also one of the 52 branches schedule for closure, at this moment I don't think there is any big discounts being put into place. A few bits and pieces yes, but not a great deal.

Yes i went past it the other day and there was a sign outside saying stock liquidation sale.

I was in the Peterborough store this morning and spoke to a member of staff who said they are hoping to keep going until January. At the moment they still have new stock coming in so the discount was 10% off everything with a couple of extra discounts here and there. They did say though that it may just be wait and see as other stores were closing already.

I was in one of the THREE Bedford branches yesterday (2 of them next to each other). Seems two are going in Jan 08 - big reductions yesterday - at least 10% off everything - but 60% off bathrooms and kitchens. Which is handy as we're just thinking of getting both. I will buy with a credit card for extra protection just in case they go bust before the goods arrive.

Hi All,

The new Focus management have decided that the Focus stores listed don't have a future within the group in their old trading format. They have handed over control of the selected stores to Hilco who specialise in conversion / closures of retail units. Hilco are actively seeking buyers for the sites that are on the list but have a target date of January 2008 for completion.

Hilco are the people that managed the closure of C&A and also Littlewoods closures or conversion into Primark.

At the moment the stores are running a 10% discount but are still ordering stock in so you should receive any special orders you have placed!

But all the above are not offering any global discounts.

I am not surprised they are closing some down, my local focus is terrible with poor customer service and over inflated prices

The Bedford stores have now upped their discounts for bathrooms and kitchens to 70%.

Went to the Cardiff store on the weekend and theres about 10% discount on most things with the odd exception. Nothing to write home about though. Clearance sales should be a min of 50% imho.
