Hereford is closet to me. When are they closing?
    Happy chappy
  • I went to the Derby branch yesterday - it was like a ghost town so to speak - it is always quiet and far too expensive, although they do have some good offers from time to time, but it definitely isn't my first choice for DIY stuff. The shelves were very bare and filthy too - not very enticing! And according to the website, Derby isn't closing down (not yet anyway). So, get that Mr Sheen out guys and clean the place up a bit! There was even a poster up advertising a 10% off promotion - 'offer ends September 2005!' Oh dear!

I used to work in one of the branches when it was 'Do-It-All' a few years back and that got closed down too - seems that Focus are going the same way. mind you - I did well out of that cos on the last week of closing they sold EVERYTHING for a £1! Drills, Lawnmowers, garden furniture, etc etc! Best £82 I ever spent! :rotfl:

AFAIK they are (or were) owned by Wickes so why don't they sell at Wickes prices? Bit like B&Q and Screwfix - why don't they sell at the same prices rather than competing with each other - they are owned by the same company !!!!!!!

Sad for any staff losing their jobs though - been there, experienced that :(

Where does it say STOCK LIQUIDATION? Can't see any in East Anglia - maybe it's just the area?

Colchester's closing down. Annoying, isn't it? None of the local ones, including the one which is right next to a Homebase, are closing down. As you know, Yarmouth's store closed down ages ago. If you fancy the drive down the A12 to Colchester, you might get something. I'm not going to bother.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Great Yarmouth closed down a couple of years ago and I don't think anyone missed it.

Then North Walsham opened (quite a surprise for such a small town) and this seems empty most of the time. New building and everything - doubt it's making much of a profit. That's how you get to

That's how you get to sell the entire company for £1, I guess.

i love focus for friendly helpful staff and bargins.
thankfully the one at Benfleet in Essex isnt on the list of closing.
I think the main reason being is because it is such a busy store.
