    Morning all

I hope Dusty's mum, LW and Piggers are all feeling better today.

Hope your DS2 is having a great time in London, mrs-mp. How does the Monopoly Trail work?

Frodders, I can do the flylady meet as one day only on Friday 17th April, so if you're definitely going to be there, let me know and I'll book my tickets and travel now.

I will book for WDYTYA on the Friday, so we can all meet up at some point there. Frodders, I would love to meet you for lunch on the Thursday too but will not know until much nearer the time if that will be possible.

Good meal yesterday evening - our visitors ate everything :p
Downstairs was cleaned all through except for steam mopping the kitchen floor, which I will do as soon as DH goes out this morning.
Cleaning upstairs will only take 20 minutes or so, and I might do that as well before I follow him.

Despite my best intentions, I didn't get in the garden yesterday. Today we have heavy mist and the forecast for the rest of the week is thick cloud, with rain on Wednesday when we have planned a day out. Meegh!

This week I absolutely must write a newsletter and also sort out the Old Wives' programme for the summer term. I have loads of other things on my list too - like sorting out another ten resource boxes, which seem never-ending. I just wish I could concentrate properly. Maybe I will have a little more success today...

(((Hugs))), spoons and sticks all round x

My hotel and train tickets (bargain :money:) are already booked so, yes, I'll definitely be there - looking forward to it :D

That's fine - it's really the Friday show that we need to book in advance as tickets are cheaper than on the day. Lunch / dinner can be sorted anytime. Be great to see you again x

Off to a meeting about our summer Jamboree trip in a bit and then cinema with Dad this evening. In the last 3 or 4 years, I think I've been to the cinema with him more times than in the previous 40 put together!!

Have a good day all xx

Iona I haven't got a clue what the monopoly trail is or how it works I didn't even know that where he was going till we got the text after they were all on the rain, we were just asked to pack light for a clean camp with good pair comfy walking shoes for Saturday. The text said they would take part in monopoly trail in small groups on Saturday I assumed they would try to visit as many places mentioned on the board game. We get him back tonight so I'll find out what happened and let you know.
Finished all my blanket squares yesterday so sewing up today and then makng a start on the edge band.
Already got a duvet on the line its crisp and dry here so hope to get all the bedding washed today.

  • Morning everyone - gws vibes to Dusty's MUm, Piggers and LW and anyone else needing them.
Dusty I too have a Bosch washer and wouldn't have anything else. Email me if you wish as I can have a look on something I should really have cancelled monthly subscription on WHICH may just help your decision!! IYKWIM.

Did another shift in ch shop yesterday as everything £1 and it was more like a jumble sale. Couldn't keep up stocking up.

Also trying to do winter clean in a week in honour of DS coming home - how I regret having a lazy January!!!

Mrs M-P - your comment about your d mil made me cry - my d mum suddenly went the same way. Think it happens when they get older and more frail. Hugs.

Have a good day everyone - off to blitz the lounge - can't remember but think I did bottom it in January?!

Gym and bath done, upstairs bin emptied. More items decluttered. Why do I put things away when they should just go straight in a bin?

It is a glorious day, so I'm off out now to the farm shop with the dogs.

I've had a look at rail fares to Brum and much as I'd like to meet other Flyladies it really is prohibitively expensive from Plymouth even booking that far in advance. *sigh* Portsmouth would be just as eye-wateringly expensive sadly. Never mind, virtual reality is lovely in it's own right.

Flyladies, what do you do with the curtain strings to stop them dangling down? I don't seem to have the knack of making them stay tidily out of the way an there's probably a very simple solution that I haven't discovered yet.

Getting the house up to scratch earlier in the week for when we had guests in for a couple of meals means that I'm sort of caught up on the day to day stuff and it looks rather nifty at the moment. My room of doom, as usual when the rest of the house is looking okay, looks like a bomb has hit it. I really must get the balance sorted out, although it's becoming less grim, year on year, in the RoD.

We stopped off at a localish pile-the-crud-high-and-flog-it-cheaply outlet on the way back from the Met Office yesterday and found, at long last, the bathroom cabinet which gives both OH and me most what we want, but not, unfortunately the final item on the checklist, which is a shaving point. Then we also found something that will sort a longstanding problem out at the chalet and - ta da - cork bathmats which I've been hunting for for a decade. I bought three so we won't have that problem again. We'll have to order the bigger items and do a 40 mile round trip to get them but we've waiting 20 years for one of the items so a couple of more weeks won't be the end of the world.

I'm having a proper day off today, the first in months. Lovely.
    Better is good enough.

Honeybear re curtain strings I tie the ends securely to stop them pulling through then do the gathering from the Middle of the curtain so it hangs down there hidden between the curtin and the lining HTH.
