Not caught up with the thread but needed to rant a little at a letter I have just received
Its a letter from Concentrix saying I may have a partner living with me. They're asking for all sorts of proof that I'm on my own. It says to ring them to discuss it then post them the proof. So I called and surprise surprise the system is "undergoing maintenance" so they can't discuss my individual case. I did speak to the woman about the proof required and she said they had sent out thousands of these letters and were therefore getting thousands of calls from people over them. Apparently HMRC are trying to claw back the "billions of pounds" that have been wrongly claimed, I said I expect there would be millions, not billions and she said "Oh no its billions, you'd be surprised". I loved the fact she assumed that I had joint financials with my ex, and that my child was over 18  I said I wished I had another adult in the house to help with the bills etc but I'm on my own and have been since 2008!
I now have to write a covering letter outlining a few things like when ex moved out and that a lot of my stuff is done online so they'll have to do with print outs, then provide bills etc for last year. And just to make matters even worse, my deadline is 26 Feb, and there's a big back log so my payments might end up being stopped so I'm best calling them closer to date. Plan is to get as much together this afternoon, and hopefully get it all in the post tomorrow morning, recorded delivery!
I guess its time to get my credit files checked, I'm guessing ex must be linked to me somewhere.
Then on top of that, the gasman has called in to say he's coming on Monday to try and fix the boiler which is being temperamental and look at the toilet which isn't flushing properly around the bowl.
And I'm working today, I've been out twice to collect 41 books, and I've got 12 in. I've got to go out again tonight to chase things :wall: Today is not turning out to be a good day at all.:(Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
main bedroom Half done.
Thank you all for the good wishes for yesterday.
I have survived the inspection - no visitors at all in our dept. I decided on drive in, I was going to relax and enjoy the day, and had a fabulous double lesson with Year 11.
Just to balance that out, a student was exceptionally foul mouthed to me when I asked him to leave the area at break, and a year 7 girl attacked a year 10 girl right in front of me at the end of lunch. Happily, also in front of the PCSO's office, so he came out and separated them as there was no way I was getting physically involved. So looks like two exclusions. Unofficially I heard we got through the inspection, but behaviour highlighted. I'd never have guessed.:p
Sending more good wishes for those flyladies in need at the moment.
Exercise class this morning went well, but I am now really tired and tucked up on the sofa. I have to take DD to uni, but I'm not going into town after, as it is so cold.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Dusty glad things aren't as bad as first feared with your mum.
Nicky sorry to hear you have been caught with a blanket send out of 'a prove you are honest and meant to be receiving help' letter. All they seem to do is scare the people witless who are entitled to help but not actually stop fraudulent claims. Hope the loo and boiler problems are quick easy fixes.
Serena glad you got the result you were sort of expecting good that someone else was there to separate the fighters I wouldn't want to get between angry teens! Difficulty now is you can intervene witht the best of intentions and end up hurt yourself or accused of injuring them.
Spent the whole morning sorting mils bank paperwork I've managed to sort her the last 7 years of her statements and put them all neatly on one files so they are easier for her to manage. I've got 2 carrier bags of pre 2007 stuff to shred here as her shredders worse than mine if you put more than 3 sheets at a time in it just seals them together in ridges instead of cutting them. Mines having a reset at the mo so I'm grabbing a cuppa while I catch up.SPC~12 ot 124

Nicki.. I have one too.. fortunately mine requires locating and sending in one letter to prove my daughter with cerebral palsy receives DLA.. morons.. if she didn't, I wouldn't have said she did! We have claimed it since 2006 for her, I think I'd notice if she suddenly had no issues whatsoever!
They should be stripping billions back from the useless bags of hot air filling Westminster and fleecing thousands of pounds a week unlawfully.. disgusting cretins!

Dusty glad your mum is home and I hope the other problem can be sorted without too much more stress for your sister. Hopefully once your mums settled back in she will start to feel a bit better and be happy to be left for the night does she live alone? (Mil does) she's adamant she wants to be in her own home but becoming increasingly more reliant on me doing things for her.
Hugs to your mum, sister and you I know you need them.SPC~12 ot 124
