Hi idabdwi
Sorry to hear about the lastest bout of bad luck, it is so crappy when your plans start falling apart around you without having it made worse by the actions of others.
Is there no way that the bikes could be covered on your household insurance?
Wish there was some way that we could help you get on your holiday so that you could get a break from the bad stuff.
hope things start looking up for you soon, and that your OH doesn't get too wet fixing the car:D

But... you've not smoked through this crisis - which in my book means you've truly cracked it!
Keep an eye on freecycle for bikes being offered - especially kids ones seem to turn up on my local group quite regularly.
